some more ideas have come to mind such as things like a shoe brand ad which makes people want to go outside and be active. i was thinking of contrasting this with someone who does not own a pair of these shoes and this makes them not active. i was thinking of showing them as just sitting at home watch tv and playing video games while eating junk food. This contrast can be aided by sound track change between the two. i want to leave the audience with the clear message to get these new shoes. the target audience will be teenagers who are not active enough.

Annotated Videos

For this idea to come to life i need to research three similar advertisements to see how they have gone about promoting their shoe or product. I will be looking at how they try and grab the audiences attention and if they succeeded . Also i will look for who there target audience is.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFVsW5DwZ5M

In this Advertisement for Adidas they grab there target audience by saying that every one runs, so it has a very wide target, they also use celebrities like Katy Perry and sports super stars like Beckam. in the first five seconds they showed lots of people getting ready to run. they used an up beat tone showing that it makes you feel good to run. they keep they audience in this ad by using the celebrities and sports stars.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KY612UZ4u48

In this advertisement for Adidas with Derrick Rose. it grabs the attension of people who know him to be a basketball star. the target audience are people who play basketball. in the first five seconds they made a ambiance as if something great was going to happen. The tone is that of excitement with having the crowd rawring. They keep the audience watching to the end because that keep rose moving towards the goal of the basket, so they have a good flow.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7MeJ1tntD0

This ad is a bit different but it is a good example. They grab the audiences attension by using inclusive speech saying "at one point ,everyone on earth has asked the question of what came first." This ad appeals to the heart and then the head with stats. it keeps the audience watching by not giving them time to think with the constant flow of the line.

Then i will research three scholarly websites to help me understand different parts of making a short advertisement.

Annotated Bibliography

1. Ballaro, Beverly, 2003, 'Six ways to Grab Your Audience Right from the Start', Harvard Business School Publishing Corpooration, accessed 9 April 2018, <https://s3.amazonaws.com/academia.edu.documents/47051221/Six_Ways_to_Grab_Your_Audience_Right_from_the_Start.pdf?AWSAccessKeyId=AKIAIWOWYYGZ2Y53UL3A&Expires=1523252951&Signature=uB21OHIrimzVFm9%2Bdt0MQuf84RM%3D&response-content-disposition=inline%3B%20filename%3DSix_Ways_to_Grab_Your_Audience_Right_fro.pdf >

The infomation on this scholarly website was very help because it spoke about different ways to grab an audience. a couple of the ways you can do this Beverly Ballaro says you start it off quick, and make it personal. this will help me with assignment two with grabbing the audiences attension.

2. Rotfeld, Herbert Jack, 2006, 'Understanding advertising clutter and the real solution to declining audience attention to mass media commercial messages', Emerald Group Publishing Limited, accessed 9 April 2018<https://www.emeraldinsight.com/doi/abs/10.1108/07363760610674301>

The information on this page is very helpful to me to understand you dont need to have a long ad for it to get the point across, it is more effective to have it short and snappy and that the 'abuse of the audience by intrusive advertising lowers the effectiveness.

3.

We had time to watch other advertisements and ask ourselves.
- how did they grab their target audience
- what did they do in the first five seconds to do this?
- what tone did they use
- How do they keep the audience to watch the whole ad

Then we asked ourselves about how we could make people continue to watch the whole video.
An idea was mentioned to me regarding the shoes. the idea was that the shoes literally make you run until you physically cannot move any more, and this could be why it helps you because it makes you gain your fitness that you desire. but i still think ill go with the idea of a shoe that makes you want to run. i will try to appeal to the heart and then the head for the audience

This week we are learning how to code a website! This will be used for the 3rd assignment. For this we looked through the code of a template website in which we will change to suit the kind of website that want to have to help promote our video idea. With mine being shoes that make you want to run. So i might make the heading the brand of the shoe or just make my own shoe brand. In having the template it helps me understand how to structure the code and gives me something to go off of.

In this weeks lecture we were told to look at different perspectives on our video idea so i might list a few ideas that might be good.
1. parents perspective of their child getting these shoes and being happy that he/she is not just staying inside all the time.
2. the computer or tv's perspective. they could be happier that they are getting used less .
3. a pets perspective. maybe the dog gets more walks.
We were also told that it is okay to go through as many different ideas as possible to make the best creative ad that subsequently grabs the audiences attension.

We also ask these questions in my bubbl.us mind map
- why
- where
- when
- who
- what
- How
to further mind map ideas

The week we have talked about having the same fonts and colour pallet for both the advert and the website so you know that you are on the same brand.

I think that i should be the target audience so it makes it easier for me to film.
i am still thinking of having it about the parents and the kid but the parents are abusive and he wants to leave so he buys the shoes and runs away from the house to become homeless, i was thinking of a motto along the lines run away from your problems, with the new Ditto 3.
I also have a thought that i should have different names so it is more creative. one that i might go with is the Desires which isnt actually that creative but it is a start the reason i want the name to start with a D is because the shoes i am planning to use have a D on the side.
