         <title>Being a role model for the students for showing empathy and respect. In addition to the academics we are teaching students, we can also be teach them life skills. Taking time to check in with them and asking them how they are doing, feeling. Teaching them how to check in with their own feels, teaching them how to self-reflect. </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I like how we need to shift our thinking from asking black students to identify with school towards identifying with those students.  I also think I need to delve further into why a black student is doing poorly and look for patterns and problems with instruction instead of assuming that they weren’t motivated or sufficiently prepared to engage with challenging material. </div>]]></description>

I think that once a student feels valued and that they belong in the classroom, they will be interested and ready to learn.<br><br>I also want to continue to allow student choice when they are completing assignments and tasks. As we talked about yesterday, try to provide students with a "choice buffet"  to give them control in their own learning.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I want to make sure I providing meaningful feedback to students. I am going to make a goal to respond to every student at least once a day on either a discussion post, assignment, or through FlipGrid or another platform. <br><br>I also really liked the idea of having digital spirit weeks. This can be done school-wide, by grade-level, or individual classrooms. I think this will keep students motivated and excited to show up to class each day. This could maybe be a special day each week that students get to "dress up" or bring something special with them to class to share with the other students. </div>]]></description>
