<title>My Welcome Letter! by Joe Davis</title>
      <link>https://padlet.com/jdavis417/zkhvhgd8nwzl</link>
<description>Well, first off, my &quot;Welcome Letter&quot; introduces the students to the course! From there, I give them some background information about me as their instructor, i.e., experience, education, interests, hobbies, etc. You know, some information to personalize this experience online with a &quot;real person&quot; per se. Next, comes the course overview followed by course specifics, i.e., contact information, required materials, books, attendance policy, etc. Next, I spend some time on &quot;where to get stuff&quot; as to resources on campus, online, etc.. I identify possible software needed and where to get it at a rate affordable to students. Furthermore, I would be remiss if I did make references to netiquette and prudent student conduct online, etc. I also like to devote time in this letter to OLL v. a regular classroom explaining differences and similarities. Finally, I talk about grading, expectations, and of course, plagiarism, research, and formatting (typically, APA 6/e is recognized in my courses). I also include important dates during the semester, i.e., holidays, drop dates, midterm, final, due dates, and related. Well, that is about it! I am sure I am leaving a few things out but that is the gist of it! Thanks, Joe </description>
