Drawing is many peoples favorite pass time. Many people have made careers off of their art. Some use it as therapy. Art is something we learn from, and creating art can change the way we see the world around us. From a water color piece of a lady bug on a leaf, to an oil painting of someone you love, maybe our favorite cartoon or shows. Art has endless possibilities and it all starts with a paper, and a pencil and you. Today, I will be teaching you how to draw a simple landscape sketch!

What is the art style and goal?

Today we will be using the most simple art supplies. Pencil and paper! But any medium can be used with this sketch as well like pen and ink, marker, or charcoal. To keep it simple I will be using a bold pencil and paper. I will show step by step om how to draw a landscape photo. The goal is for you to get the general idea of how to sketch a landscape, and you can apply the techniques I use to your future drawings.

Doing a simple 10 minute drawing exercise before you begin or continue a piece can be extremely beneficial. Practicing drawing lines can loosen your hands, form straighter or smoother lines, and get you ready to start your official drawing.

This is the first exercise I do before drawing. It helps straighten my line drawing. Consistency is very important when drawing because it will make your drawing look more "clean" and overall better. Consistent lines makes a better drawing.

Using references you find online is perfectly okay to use, but if you get the chance I would recommend drawing in real life. Drawing a scenery from reality can improve your art in different ways because of the way our eyes see the dimensions. Photos on the internet aren't exactly the same since it is basically 2d

The purpose of this was to show you my drawing process and things I do that helps me improve my art. Please apply some of these techniques into your art if you want to pimprove. There are many sources online for free that can teach you many different techniques as well. Pinterest has a large variety of short tutorials or examples. It is important to mention do not copy others art, but instead observe their techniques and apply those to your drawings. If you consistently draw, you will see improvement so keep it up!
