1 ) I think that National Day is important to the people in the video as they seemed to be preparing various decorations such as banners and posters that are drawn by the residents and there are many decorations displayed hence I think that they are very excited to celebrate it.

2 ) me and my family don’t celebrate National Day .

3 ) I think that it is important for the country to celebrate National day as it the day in which the country gain independence and I think that celebrating National way is a good way to commemorate that and show gratitude for the country achievements. For example Singapore have always held a National Day Parade (NDP) which is an annual celebration of Singapore's independence. It is also a platform for Singaporeans from all walks of life to come together to celebrate the nation's milestones and achievements while rallying ourselves in preparation for the future. Hence, I feel that it is important to celebrate National Day.

(a) They could be thinking "This wasn't here before", and then remember that National Day was coming up. I think that they were not particularly impressed, but they don't mind the decorations either. Not one of them looked directly at the banners, but just walked past instead.

(b) National Day has become less significant to us over time. When my sisters and I were still in primary school, we would play National Day songs on repeat and watch the entire celebration as it was livestreamed and try to see the fireworks from home. But now, we realise that we don't need a special day to appreciate the green city that Singapore is or to enjoy local food.

(c) I think it is important to celebrate National Day as it is the one day people can show off just how patriotic they can be. This brings people together, celebrating how long their country has been around for. Even if people don't celebrate, the display of performances and fireworks are still appealing to the eye and can be enjoyed.

I don't think it is important to celebrate National Day as the strength of the country should be measured by how united people are across longer periods of time rather than on a single day. It can become a tradition to have parades and performances every year, but it also risks becoming repetitive. People will be bored and disinterested, which defeats the purpose of engaging everyone.

(a)I think people in the video might be fascinated by the new decorations in their estate to commemorate the country's birth. As it is not something that is on display all year round, it has attracted the attention of people who look at it in delight. In the video, the chairperson of the neighbourhood committee mentions that when they recruited people to paint the planks were delighted when they saw their own work. It also mentions that they had received positive feedback from other residents hence tells me that people were satisfied and liked the decorations.
(b) To my family and i, national day is a day that we can come together and have a break from usual days where everyone is either buys at work or in school and we seldom get to spend quality time together. We especially like to go watch the national day parade as a family, sometimes even bringing along other relatives. Our grandparents who were alive during the war always stresses the importance of commemorating national day and being proud of our nationality. I generally feel that national day is when we remember the forefathers of our country who have dedicated themselves to building this country to what it is today. During the pandemic, national day was a day for me to relax at home with my family and watch the flag fly past the blocks, however we will continue to remember the past efforts on national day.
(c) I think that is important for countries to celebrate national day as it shows to other countries that the country is well and secure, at least another country attacking them. It also establishes the citizen's sense of belonging to the country so as to assure them of their country's safety and harmony. Celebrating a country's national day also commemorates the founding of the country whose efforts and history they should remember and citizens may feel the urge to play their part for their country.

a) People might think that the decorations for National Day are beautiful, as it looks nice at night. They may also feel proud as they did the design themselves, and overcame challenges. They did the design to represent Singapore and therefore may feel patriotic as well. The design portrays the history of Singapore and therefore may feel proud to be a Singaporean.

b)Singapore National Day used to mean a lot in the past.Innocence was a virtue we all had back then, and therefore we would get excited if there was any events. Now,as we get busier in society, it becomes less important, as we have lesser time on our hands to celebrate it.We end up skipping National Day each year as workload increases and studies grow in importance each year.More time therefore would be allocated to studies rather than watching the livestream. In the past, my family would sit down to watch the livestream each year. Now, as it has become less significant, we end up ignoring it.

c)I think that celebrating National Day shows how far we have come, our past, our history. The engravings that our ancestors put down back in the day.It shows our patriotism, our devotion and attachment to Singapore.Even so, it is not important as many are attacked to work issues and are quite busy. This leads to the fact that many people not attending national day.

a)The people might be very excited to present the National Day decorations to the citizens. They have put in their hardwork to produce many decorations for the nation. They might be worried if the decorations can educate the public about Singapore's history or be ignored. They think that they are doing their part in spreading the Singapore culture and history from when they started to where it is now.

b) It gives us a chance to be a part of the community because my parents were new to Singapore. When we reached to the national day parade we get to see fighter jets and the flag which was carried by a helicopter flying in the sky . We get to understand the history of Singapore as we only see Singapore as a developed and a wealthy country and assumed it was like that the whole time. It gave me an idea of how it began and appreciated the hardwork and vision of our fore fathers.

C) It is important because it helps us to remember the struggle to get to where we are today. It is also to commemorate those who tried their best even without anyone believing in them to succeed into a very successful country. Some other countries which were not colonised do not celebrate national day but Singapore struggled to gain independence from the British. Therefore, to remember the struggle and being grateful for it is what national days are important for

a) if i were as famous, i personally would feel that the clout's attention is daunting and toxic as when you start being famous, many people would be focusing on what you do and it is overall really stressful as you will start to care about your actions more as well as the numbers of people following you could make you feel very compelled to gain more follower, making your life toxic.

b) some disadvantages could be that it will take up most of your time. you will focus a lot on it as when performances are scheduled, you could miss out on a lot of school work and your academics will drop while you take up most of your time practising dances instead of revising. you would also start to feel stressed out as you will have a lot of things on your plate. especially if you are unable to cope with the pressure, you could break under pressure and be burnt out. Another possibility is that you might not be able to take criticism well as their will always be people who will badmouth and dislike artists even if they did not do anything bad, they would then post hate comments, threats, false rumours and accusations against you. Receiving huge amounts of criticism and stress will be extremely mentally and physically draining causing them to easily have negative thoughts frequently which is bad for their mental health. Lastly, there may be obsessive fans who will go to the extent where they stalk them home or wherever they go resulting in some idols having their addresses and personal phone numbers leaked. This causes them to be very aware of the people around them when they are out and more get paranoid over things. Thus, they may not be able to have a peaceful life. Mainly it is difficult to cope with all these taken into consideration.

c) yes, i agree. Being a celebrity they would be looked up to by many fans and whatever they do may be followed by them. for example they should do things as simple as not littering or not doing illegal things like drugs, fans would definitely look up to them as an inspiration
i also agree because naturally everyone should have a mindset to do the right things. Having a big heart and doing charities not only boosts them being noticed by people and more people will start to do the same just because their favourite celebrities did it.

(a) I think they enjoy doing it and are fully engaged in the activity. While they are too younger to understand the bigger picture of having coding as a useful skill, they have fun experimenting with it and are putting in good effort, all while learning.

(b) I think it is good to learn a lot of skills at an early age. Given the increasing competitiveness in the world and the typically-Asian fear of missing out, it is good to be equipped with as many skills from as early an age as possible. This can potentially be the difference of the child producing average results, or setting the bar above their peers.

While it is good to be equipped with relevant skills from as early an age as possible, "a lot" of skills may be too much. Young children have minds that are nowhere near fully developed and they can very easily be influenced by their environment, which includes people and their expectations. The child may not recognise it yet, but this type of stress to do well is not healthy, and may lead to a negative obsession over doing well for everything as they grow up.

(c) I agree. As a student, it should be their priority to do well, get the grades, and secure a decent future. This would be the safest path to enter the working world prepared with a high education level and academic achievements.

However, it is not possible for everyone to do as well as their peers in an academic setting. Some people have learning disabilities or studying out of books and lesson slides just don't click for them. This is why arts-- like dancing and music-- and sports are just as relevant to students. They can be a form of self-expression, a fun way to keep fit, or a distraction from school work. Arts and sports are not a waste of time at all, and are life skills that should be developed if one has interest.

a) People think that the National Day decorations are very nice and placed a importance on celebrating National Day.They enjoy the decorations and find it interesting to look at it and they can understand more about Singapore culture. Furthermore, the younger people, and children can also learn more about Singapore's history, how Singapore develop from a small country and the icons of our country. Thus, i think they found it very interesting to know more about our home country while just walking back home or along the streets.

b) It mean a day for our family and I to sit down in the living room and watch the National Day parade. As it is once a year event, and a public holiday, it gave our family time to bond together and enjoy the show they prepared. Thus, it mean quite a lot to our family as we get to spend time with one another. Also, there will be fireworks for us to enjoy, so overall i think is quite interesting.
However, as time passes, my family and i slowly do not placed any importance on National day as we get more busy with school work and work. Furthermore, as i grow older, i find it quite boring and would rather spend time watching my drama than to watch the National day parade.

c) I think it is important to celebrate national day as it is the day of independence of the country and the citizens should know about the importance of this day. Thus, i feel that countries should still placed importance on celebrating national day as it still means a lot to the people in the past and that it is one of the reason why we have our country.
I also think that it is important for the children to know about the day of our independence and how the country develop from the past until now. By celebrating national day, we can enjoy the shows they prepared with us and appreciate the people in the past that help us to achieve our country . Thus, we should still celebrate national to honoured the people in the past and appreciate this day.
However,I do not think that it is important to celebrate national day as the citizens just need to know about the existence of this day and be grateful for it. Moreover, i do not think there is a need to celebrate it but let the citizens to take a break and appreciate this day. Thus, as long as people still value this day i do not think that it is important to celebrate it as it can get boring for some citizens.

It is also a day that allow us to spend time together as it is the rare few times we are able to get together. We will sometimes go out and have dinner or just go to the mall and spend time together. It is a rare day for us to spend together. Hence, National Day is a good day for me and my family to spend time together.

(c) I think that it is important for countries to celebrate National Day as it is the day where Singapore gain our independence. We used this day to celebrate all the achievements and how far the country has developed. In addition, National Day can also help to evoke a sense of belonging to Singaporeans. National Day can help make people feel proud of all the achievements the country has achieved. It is also a rare time where people of all different races and backgrounds come together to celebrate the country evoking a sense of belonging.

(a) I would definitely feel overwhelmed at first. But once I get more familiar with it, I would feel a very strong sense of appreciation and gratefulness towards the people who helped me on my path to fame-- bandmates, fellow artists, fans.

(b) The music industry is naturally as competitive as, if not more competitive than, other industries. It is easy to burnout and lose passion for your art if the pressure of the media and fans gets too much. There is also the constant demand of being original, and living up to expectations. It can be exhausting, and you would be giving up your youth for fame. This means growing up in an environment with zero privacy and your every move being scrutinised by the public eye. It would not be easy at all.

(c) I agree to a large extent. While celebrities should not have to constantly seek approval from their fans, they should understand that being someone famous should be backed up by being a good human being. Celebrities can create a huge impact as they are recognised globally, and everything they say and do has a certain power over fans. It may not be intentional, but the lifestyle and attitude of the celebrity can be adopted by the fans, as they are someone who is admired. Often, the celebrities who do the best in the industry and leave a positive legacy are those who have proved to be genuine and have good moral values.

The children will be able to learn things quickly and efficiently and would have the idea of always learning and trying new things.
This could also challenge the child to figure out problems and to learn to connect the 'caterpillars' in coding.

c) I agree as being a student, getting decent grades to secure an ideal secure future should be the priority as it is the safest path to enter the competitive working world in Singapore with high levels of education diplomas and degrees. However not everyone would be able to do well the same in academics since some people have certain disabilities which may hinder them from doing well in academics. So, alternatively students can turn to arts and sports to relax and keep fit while having fun, to have a little distraction from school to de-stress. Thus, arts and sports are definitely not a waste of time.

They can apply skills learnt and have a higher understanding, therefore I feel that it is a good idea for children to learn new skills at a early age.

c) I think that secondary school students should not just concentrate on their schoolwork and spend time learning other things. If they learn skills such as dance or music, they can be more skilled next time and be a professional in the future. They can find a job if they major in those areas. Also, some students in secondary school use those skills to apply a direct school admission to the school they want. This would allow them to retain a spot of the course they wanted, which would benefit themselves.

a) they may think that it is creative to put up certain decorations especially those that showcase singaporean spirit. Also, as Singapore celebrates its birthday every year, when foreigners come into Singapore, they can be educated of our history and learn about the heros in the past who risked their lives for a certain cause. Especially since Singapore is a really small country i think that it would be admirable when foreigners look at our detailed decorations of past events and how we got to where we are now, being a developed country even though we are just a small red dot on the globe.

b) Singapore's national day is like a holiday for my family and i while we celebrate the birthday of our country together. We have also attended most of the NDP shows to show our patriotism towards our country. Most importantly, our family gets to spend time together aside from our busy schedules whether it is for work or school. So i think that it is very meaningful.

c) I think that it is very important to celebrate National Day, as it is the day Singapore gained independence. On national day, we celebrate the freedom of this nation from the ruling of the British and to celebrate the achievements and the major developments along the way.Celebrating National Day also helps evoke a sense of belonging to Singapore, making people be proud to be a Singaporean especially because Singapore is the only country that is racially harmonised between people of all walks of lives as well without major conflicts or protests. So it is very comforting to be celebrating what the country has achieved

(a) i feel that the children in the video are feeling intrigued by the activities as seen from the video, they are totally invested in the moving toys and assembling it together. As they are being taught the basics of coding via play, it is fascinating to them as it is not their average toy figuring or car. The children in the video are jumpy and all smiles as they observe the toy move around. Their attention is all on the activity and none of them are distracted or uninterested.
(b) yes, i feel it is good for children to learn a lot of new skills at an early age as our world is evolving into technology based. In the future many places from school to work will require you to learn the basics of technology. hence i feel that it is good to start early and expose them to a variety of gadgets that can flavour their learning to be more wholesome. Also as it will be more and more common to use gadgets instead of the traditional way. If we let them explore earlier, it would definitely give them a head start and ease their learning in the future. It can compromise play and learning that will garner the interest of the little ones. However there should also be a limit to prevent the addiction to gadgets that can lead to children not being able to control their emotions, all because of the technology. It is not good in a sense that their lives would revolve around these technologies as they would not know how to survive if they were without it. Hence i feel that the exposure to new skills should be done in moderation, also not to stress the children.
(c) I disagree that secondary school students should concentrate on their schoolwork and not spend time learning other things like how to dance. As our lives do not revolve around academics alone, there are other components that should be put into consideration. Should a person only be active in their studies, they would not be able to do well in the workforce that requires things like soft skills which had been totally cut off. A person is required to be of a certain standard in each aspect hence excelling in studies alone will not get you anywhere. Other skills like playing an instrument or drawing could carry you to success too. Being invested in something other than studies will expose you to more things and even be a hobby to de-stress. However I also agree that students should concentrate on their studies as it is important for one to do well to even go anywhere. Students often sidetrack to things like drama series and hobbies that eventually become their priority instead. Hence the students should prioritise studies but in moderation.

With fame, there would be people who would be obsessed with you, to extreme levels. All this make me feel extremely uncomfortable.

b)Being famous when young, has a few disadvantages. In life, the world is ruled by numbers.Be it the assets you have, or even the results of your exam, the world is all based on numbers. The same thing would apply to fame.Fame and fortune are two things you would care about when you are famous. With fame, you would care about the number of fans you have, the profit you may be making from the sales of fan products.Being famous means that you would have to work or upload things on a constant schedule, and that would tire you out constantly. If you do not, then you may lose followers.Fame.This type of life is of a high intensity, something I am not used to.You would have to maintain your image even though you are young. But there are many disadvantages of getting famous at a very young age. Since young individuals are not mentally mature, they do not know how to handle fame and how to conduct themselves in public. This would lead to a lot of clout, and may lead to them having health or mental problems. They may not know how to deal with people that are overly obsessed. With fame at a young age, they have to face the judgement of the public, which they might not be able to handle.

c)I agree that celebrities have a duty to act as responsible role models for their fans.Fans look up to their idols and would want to be like them.If they are not role models, they may lead their fans astray. They can be famous globally and they would hit headlines if they did something that is wrong.

a) I think the children in the video are feeling very excited yet intrigued by the activity. The children all had smiles on their faces and were actively particicpating in the activity as they were all contributing in someway. As observed from the video there was one activity whereby they had to untangle the strings and i could see that all the children were very focused on the electronic device that was on the foor trying to untangle the strings.Whereas,in another activity the children were excitedly cheering the electronic ladybug that was designed by the themselves to go faster.

b)I believe it is a good idea for children to learn a lot of new skills at an early age. This is because by exposing these young children to new skills , they are able to gain an earlier exposure to skills which may become more difficult to grasp at a later age.Additionally since new skills require time and passion to develop them,at a young age children would willingly be drawn to whatever seems fresh and new to them hence they would just try their best to aquire the new skill at a young age. However,as they age they may become lazy in learning a new skill hence exposing a new skill to them at a young age is good as it would allow them to naturally gain an interest for the skill rather than making it feel like a chore when their older and when they have their own opinions.
On the other hand, some may discourage the exposure of young children to learn new skills at an early age.I believe this view will mainly come from parents who worry that their child may feel too pressurised to pick up a new skill at an early age .Parents who also wish that their child creates fun yet happy memories when their young rather than being rushed to keep up with the majority would thus not encourage children to learn a lot of new skills at an early age. Moreover,it current times i believe everything tends to be costly from food to clothes, especially in a time whereby our country is going through inflation.Learning new skills fundamentaly would require costs to pay for the classes that educate and teach these children the new skill that they would be learning.Hence,on top of the money going out from the parents pocket to fund the basic necessities of the household,I believe the parents would feel that it is not a good idea to fund their children into learning new skills as it would be costly and not everyone has the budget for that.

c)I think I can understand where these people are coming from.Mainly i believe that they tend to worry about their school work hence they feel that there would be insufficient time to balance both schoolwork and hobbies.I agree that concentrating on our schoolwork is important as for instance at secondary four it is an important year whereby it determines our tertiary pathway.Hence, there is a level of importance to ensure that we do not end up retaking the major o level exam and rather do well for it in one shot.Additionally, there is also what my father would usually tell me where there is a season for everything, for example as students it is our season to study focus and do well academically because now our responsibility is not to work or earn money but rather focus on what is suited for our age to do which is studying.
However,as much as their are seasons in our lives,I beieve that in retrospect,if we were to devout our time doing one specfic thing like studying,it would turn into a chore and there would be no balance to lid=fe and everything would feel mundane. Thus in order to develop continuos interest in what we are doing, picking up a hobby would allow for us to strike the balance in studying and enjoying what we love. Thus there would be a time for both fun and study.Additionally, spending time learning other things would be beneficial to us in terms of health and skillswise. The thing we pcked up may not have been taught in school which allows us to be ahead of others by one step and hence exceling in other areas because we are skillful in what we have picked up.It too could act as a stress reliever as to when things feeel overwhelming especially schoolwork,we have an outlet to safely yet effectively release our stress.

a) I would feel determined and proud of myself. As a celebrity i believe i would want to work hard to please my fans and make sure that i stay well liked by the fans hence i would feel determined to work hard.I would also feel proud of myself as I have made it this far and brought pride to my family.
On the contrary,I would also feel pressured and stressed. As a celebrity that famous I would understand that there are expectations to be met and people to please, furthermore there are millions of eyes watching me as i perform and i definitely do not want to make a mistake hence i may feel pressured when preparing for the performances and may put pressure on myself to practice very hard so as to avoid reshoots and delyaing others when it comes to video recordings for music videos as such.At times,i may also feel i need a break however,as a celebrity there are usually rarely any breaks and hence i may feel stressed to cope ith the tight schedules and regular performances.
b)Firstly, being famous at an early age makes one become materialistic at an early age and not truly enjoying valuable things. For example, materialistic things would mean designer goods, money and fame. With fame comes sponsors of brands who would want you to advertise for their brand and hence you would be exposed to these brands and tend to search for happiness through them making you want more and more of these things each time.Being materialistic is certainly not good as it makes one very foolish to chase after things in life that can be bought with money rather than the things in life like friendships that cannot be bought with money. One may then overspend on these goods making them waste money on temporial happiness.
Secondly, being famous at an early age makes your career that made you famous carve your life pathway for you,For example,a famous singer like taylor swift if she were to change her life pathway to something other than singing she would receive a lot of hate for that as her fans whom have been rooting for her would feel that they have rooted for a artist who was not devouted to her singing career.Hence, you as an artist would not quite be able to change your interests once you have gained fame even if you lose interest in it.
Thirdly, gaining fame at an early age would mean that you need to know how to balance your life at an early age. Meaning, maintaining friendships, studies and your practices altogether. Many a times idols tend to go for many practices directly after their schooling hours ,leaving them no time to spend or catchup with their friends and this can become a stress for them as their friends may feel that their pirotizing their journey of fame over them and may end up losing friends in the midst of their fame.
Fourthly, when you get famous at a young age,you would be exposed to the negative side of the internet at an early age.Such as receiving hate comments from the haters all over instagram, facebook and others in general. At an early age,the young an innocent person who gained fame at a young age may not know how to handle such comments and feel dejected by it and even have suicidal thoughts.
c)To a large extent.Yes i think they should be good role models as there are millions of people who look up to them because of their music careers or actig career.Even those as young as five.THe content hence their exposed to at a young age would create a lifelong influence.Hence these celebrities should act in a way where they are role models so that those who adore them can learn from them. These celebrities are probably what makes up most of the content that the children are watching too which means their the biggest influencers to theres peoples lives and it would be good if their role models so they can impact them in a good way.

a)I think the people are probably thinking that the decorations are very nice and eye catching as at night they would light up.However,in the day,the people are not very interested in the decorations as their not as eye catching but just plain colourful. In the day, people would just walk past it and not even bother to turn their heads.

b)Singapores national day to my family firstly means that we would need to dine as a family usually for dinner together. As it is a time whereby we can spend time as a family to dress in red and white to celebrate the nations birthday.Hence,it is a meaningful time of family interactions and having a special meal together.
Secondly,Singapore’s National Day means that i get to wear red when i go out and finally dig out a red piece of clothing that has been sitting in my wardrobe for ages.Thirdly,it means happiness and pride for my country to me as a country which is able to celebrate national day means it has made it far and has been successful, hence it is also a day where i feel united eith the fellow singaporeans i see on the street.

Firstly,I think it is important to celebrate national day as it creates a sense of belonging as a citizen and also recognises that my country is a stable and successsful one.Firstly,i am able to feel a sense of belonging by celebrating national day as i know that i am able to celebrate and watch the national day parade at the venue because i am a citizen. It makes me feel that i have a country to rely on because it has been thriving for so many years and counting.Secondly,it reminds me that at the end of the day we are one nation and we only have each other to rely on.By celebrating national day, yearly, there would be a new theme song thus it gives everyone a song to look forward t to sing together, creating a commmon identity.

However,it may not be important to celebrate national days as it occurs yearly and thus not many people may have the time to do so given their busy work scheudles.Secondly,it is a waste of resources, with celebrations, there are outgoing costs for for example fireworks.Hence money is largely wasted at every occassion and there is not much value in celebrating a day that repeats for every year. For example,it is not important to celebrate national day in singapore all the time as money is spent to create all the goodie bags and fireworks.Whereas this money could be diverted to better use such as singapore healthcare.

a) I think that the children are very excited and interested about the activity. As they were all smiling while doing the activity and shows signs of engaging in the activity given such as they were seen participating well in the activity with enthusiasm.Furthermore, as a child, they tend to be more interested in new things and activity. For example, there was one paricular activity where the children attach the string to the kibo and programme it to move, i can see that they were all very participative and excited to do it with them jumping and fidgeting. Thus, i think that they were all very intrigued in the activity they were partipating and shows great interests in it.

b) I agree with the statement. As i think it is a good practise to let the children to get a sense of what are the skills required in life. For example, basic skills like writing, reading and critical thinking are required in life, if the children get to know about the brief idea of new skills and a chance to try it. I think it wil be a good practise for them as it benefits them in the long run such as skills like cooking or physical activites like cycling or swimming. Thus, i think it is a good idea for children to learn skills at an early as it benefits them and allow them to know what are some new skills and get a brief idea of it .
I also agree with the statemen. As i think it is quite important for them to get a brief idea of what are some skills required in life and that they migth be able to find out which skills they are good at and interested in. For example, if the children get to know more about the skills they are learn and able to master the skills at a young age , it meant that the child has a talent for it and might be able to get some achievements. Thus, i think that learning a lot of new skills and things will give them more exposure on the things in this world and will be intrigued by it.
However, i disagreement. As i think that the children might not cope well if they were to learn a lot of new skills at an early age. For example , if the children were to learn some skills they have never heard of it before and require a lot of concentration and skills in it such as coding , they might found it difficult and will not be interested in it. Thus, i think that it is not a good idea for children to learn a lot of new skills at an early age but a minimum amount of it like the basic life skills could be helpful for them since young such as reading, writing and activities that train their concentration.

c) I disgaree with it. As i think that students should still spend some time on activties that allow them to relieve stress from school and what they like. If students were to just concentrate on their schoolwork and not spend time learning other things which is their passion , something they are interested in, then they would not be able to enjoy their life and are not spending their time wisely as well. Furthermore, as long as the students are able to manage their time well between these activities, they will still be able to do well in their studies while enjoying to learn something they like. Thus, i disagree with the fact that secondary school students should just concentrate on their school work as students also need to do things that are their passion which some would allow the students to take a break from studies and relieve the stress from school.
i also disgaree with it as i think that not all people are academically smart and that they may have talents in other areas. For example, there are many students out there spending time learning things like dance or piano because it might be their passion or even the jobs that they want to do. Thus, i do not think that students should concentrate on their school work as not everyone is academically smart but they have other talents they want to pursue and many of them would end up achieving what they want while enjoying the things they do. Furthermore, if students would to just concentrate on their schoolwork , they would not be able to enjoy the things they like to do and relieve some stress from school .
I agree with it as i think that academic still plays a big part in everyone future to a certain extent. As most jobs require some university certificate or the basic schooling. It is still best for students to achieve good results which will allow them to get the jobs they want. Also, students nowadays are not managing their time well, and some are spending too much time on learning other things like dancing or singing which affects their academic. Thus, it would have a huge impact on them and cause them to have more stress on both sides . So it is best to concentrate on their school work first and learn to manage time well, afterwards then it would be fine to learn other things and focus on them .

a) I think the children in the video are feeling excited as they lean forward to actively participate in attaching the basic coding equipment to form a caterpillar and control it to move to certain locations within the preschools.
b)I think its a good idea as this programme could inspire some of the preschoolers to eventually take up coding in the future due to this memorable experience they experienced during early childhood.Hence learning skills that could benefit them in the future if they take up coding in the future. Also, by having a head start, they will be ahead in terms of the skills they learnt at a younger age. I think that it is a bad idea as the preschoolers shouldn't be stressing themselves by learning too much skills at a younger age, as preschoolers also tend to have a shorter attention span, by having coding programmes as shown in the video from 6-8pm , they would not be able to concentrate and would be too tired to learn the basic skills for coding as preschoolers need more sleep and this programme could affect their sleep cycle
c)I agree as being a secondary student, we are only expected to study and the more we do school related work, the more our academics improve so that we have a more opportunities in work and a larger variety of options for the courses and be able to qualify should we want take the course.I disagree as learning things like dancing would be able to help release stress and keep fit.By improving our physical and mental health, we would be able to focus more on studies and be able to concentrate our studies.Without taking breaks in doing school related work, our mental and physical health would deteriorate, leading to a unhealthy lifestyle. I disagree as we could spend the time bonding with family members by doing activities such as dance, as we grow older, our interaction with our family decreases and we would be able to make up for the lack of family bonding time.

(a) I feel if i was as famous as those singers i would feel very pressured and burdened. Firstly their job is very demanding, in terms of their appearance and performance to the audience. Having to satisfy a large group of people who look towards you with expectations is definitely stressful. Especially being as famous as them causes even your private life to be exposed. Going around places like supermarkets or malls will be difficult as people might recognise you. Therefore being a famous person will restrict certain things you can do and i feel that it is very tiring to live up to people's expectations.
(b) Being famous at an early age takes away joy that you could have enjoyed like others of your age. Instead of studying and hanging out with friends, you will have to sacrifice your time to build your image and likely a future job. At that age you might even question why you are not allowed to do certain things like normal children and instead dislike the thought of being famous. It would be time consuming and result in you missing out on education as focus would be on fame.
(c) I agree to an extent that celebrities have the duty to act as a responsible role model for their fans as they have decided to take up the job as a influence for people that are constantly watching their actions. However i also feel that they are human and having the duty of being a role model is a great responsibility also considering the large number of people that they influence, which hence can be a burden. They have the right to do whatever they want, only that if it was not something decent there will be huge consequences following.
Therefore i agree to a large extent that celebrities should act as a role model for their fans as they are aware that their fans look up to them and are influenced by their actions. Fans will always support their celebrity and sometimes even follow blindly even if the celebrity is wrong. Fans tend to trust in their idols and will defend them should their idol do anything wrong. Hence i believe celebrities should be responsible and know that their actions have an impact on their fans. Should they do anything unpleasant or offensive, they should admit and correct their mistake.

(a) I think the children are really excited about the activity. When trying out the different programming toys, they seem very focused and fixated on the toy, excited to see how it works. They also seem very fascinated.

(b) Yes. I think it is a good idea to introduce different skills to children of a young age. Giving them different opportunities to explore and learn different skills will also allow them to discover their passion and talent in some areas. For example, a child who has learnt the basics of coding in school and expresses interest in it, can further their experience as they turn older and acquire more skills. This will also give them a greater advantage in the workforce as they have more experience prior to that. Learning a lot of skills will also help with their confidence, self-esteem and support their overall development.

(c) I disagree to a large extent. While education should be the number one priority for youths, learning different skills and exploring different hobbies will support them in their holistic development which is equally, if not more important than academic qualifications. Nowadays, there are many more platforms for youths to engage in, to uncover their potential. Being able to learn new skills and hobbies is a privilege, and will also help them in the future. For example, dance classes are a great way for youths to express themselves, and learning new skills might help them in choosing a career. However, I also agree with this statement as participating in external activities outside of school can come as a huge distraction. I have seen many students discovering their passion and areas they excel in, but wholly neglect their studies for it. Some youths get too caught up with pursuing their interests, without allocating time for studying. I believe the right way is to find a balance, between learning new skills and hobbies, and spending enough time on their schoolwork.

a) I would feel honoured and stressful at the same time. As firstly, i would be very happy to receive a lot of support and love from my fans but at the same time i know that every small action will get comments from the people. Thus, i have to pay attention on a lot of small details on my action as well as maintain my idols impression so as to continue receive support from all of my fans. By doing all this, i would feel appreciated by many people as well as stressful.

b)The possible disadvantages can be like not able to cope with the criticism well. As if anyone get famous at the young age, people or 'key board warrior' would tend to comment about everything they do , such as their dressing and their actions on certain things. Having to receive too much attention since young might cause them to feel stressful and have negative thoughts causing them to feel sad and not able to enjoy their childhood. Thus, the disadvantage is that they have to learn to cope well with the people comments about them.
Secondly, the disadvantages can also be not able to manage their time well between their jobs and studies. Though some of the celebrity drop out of school , many of them are still schooling and have to cope with their work schedule as well as their studies. Thus, becoming famous at an early age might cause them to become more busy with their work and not able to spend enough time with their studies as well as dealing the amount of stress from both side.
Lastly, disadvantages can also be having obsessive fans that disturb them. For example , i heard that there are some K-pop idols who are being stalked and their address as well as phone number are being leaked. This can cause the idol to being aware of their surroundings at all time and not able to enjoy their life at their age where they were suppose to be hanging out their friends. Thus, becoming famous at an early age cause them to not be able to have a 'normal life' but having to cope with all the attention and stress.

c) Yes i think that they should be good role model for their fans. As as a celebrity, their little actions or words can cause a lot of attention from the people be it bad or good. Furthermore, the fans age groups are normally teenagers, thus they should set a good example by showing respect to people and not do things that are bad in this society. Thus, they should be good role models for their fans so that the fans can learn something from them and apply in their daily life too.
I also think that they should be good role model for their fans in order to prevent criticism from the internet or anyone. As nowadays internet is a scary world that many people make comments about the celebrity, and that can be seen by the celebrity themselves which might led to them not able to cope well with it. Moreover, this can cause them to have mental health problems such as depression thus, they should be a good role model to their fans to earn the respect from their fans and gain more support from them instead of criticisms.
However, i do not think that they should be good role models for their fans but instead just be themselves. As celebrities are also human , they all would want to live their life the way they want but not the way the fans want. Thus, i think that they should be who they are no matter what and ignore what expectations people set for them.

(a) If I were as famous as the singers in the video I would feel stress as it is not easy being famous as we have to be very careful of our actions. Usually celebrities are always watched by a lot of people and if we make a mistake we might offend the people and get hated on. It would be stressful having to carefully watch over all of our actions and make sure we do not make any mistakes that can cause people to hate on us.

(b) One disadvantage of becoming famous at an early age is there are possibilities of stalkers. For example, I have always see on social media posts about Kpop idols getting stalked by overly obsessed fans. Some of the fans will find out about the address and phone numbers of these idols and even sell them to other fans. This violates the celebrities privacy and will constantly make them feel uncomfortable. Another disadvantage is the criticism one may receive. There are always people that are bound to dislike celebrities and there are cases where these people post hate comments and criticism on social media platforms. These comments and posts can affect the celebrities mental health and may damage their self esteem. I have seen a few times where a celebrities have committed suicide after being not able to handle the hate they received. Lastly, being famous at an early age shortens the time they are able to spend on doing this they like. Being famous at a young age means that they have to dedicate their lives to their job. It can be very tiring having to perform, act, go to events and they usually take a very long time. There are a lot of times where they end their job late and are unable to do other things and even take away their sleep.

(c) I agree that celebrities have a duty to act as responsible role models for their fans as the fans may follow their actions. Celebrities usually have a young fan base and these fans may look up to these celebrities and follow their actions without knowing if it is the right thing to do or not. Not all actions done by celebrities are good and can cause harm to oneself if followed. Recently, I have seen posts about celebrities starving themselves in order to fit into a dress or have very unhealthy diets. Fans may want to look like them and hence follow these actions which can affect their health. However, celebrities are also humans so it would be alright even if they are not perfect. Celebrities are still humans after all they have feelings and are bound to make mistakes. As long as they do not do anything bad it is alright. There may also be chances where they try too hard to be "perfect" and can cause harm to both their physical and mental health.

clip 4 :

(a) I think people in the video feel that national day an important day to commemorate. They put a lot of effort in decorating and are proud to show off the Singapore flag.

(b) My whole family are born in Malaysia, when we first move to Singapore we were PR and knew pretty much nothing about Singapore’s history. My brother and I, 3 and 5 were unaware why we were in Singapore. However after growing up and taking social studies in primary sch, we

were more aware of the significances of national day. When we got our citizenship, national day meant much more. It meant a new beginning for me and my family. We lived a comfortable life and meet a lot of new people. Unlike Malaysia, Singapore is clean and safe. Education were top notch and the government did their job well to ensure Singaporeans live with quality. National day also means commemorating our forefathers and appreciating their work done for Singapore to go forward. Singapore would not have been like it is in present days without those who came before us. The sufferings they through to fight for independence.

(c) I think it is very important to celebrate National Day regardless of countries because it strengthens sense of belonging and responsibility. National Day celebrates how far Singapore has progressed as a Nation. By celebrating it, it makes citizens feel proud of the achievements made and that they are a part of it. Citizens will feel more willing to ensure Singapore keep on progressing and wants to continue playing a part in working towards that goal. Example, one’s determination to do well in their job so that Singapore will be economically better. Or picking up trash on the way home keeps Singapore clean. The determination to make Singapore a better place will be strengthened.

(a) How would you feel if you were as famous as the singers in the picture?

I would feel stressed out and uncomfortable as being famous means that you need to meet up many people's expectations, from fans to managers. Thus, you will need to be careful of your actions and words in front of the camera and when you are outside as people would be watching you. Famous singers like the ones in the video will need to maintain a healthy body for dancing and meeting up the expectations of fans while improving their singing skills. At the same time, they need to film many different types of variety shows and learn how to dance and sing new songs to prepare for the group's comeback. Making then work for extremely long hours with barely any break.Sometimes, one might even face harsh criticism and death threats just for being in a relationship with someone.
However, I will also be very satisfied and grateful for the support I recieved from my fans and will enjoy the process of writing, dancing and singing of the songs. As I myself is a fan of some boybands, I noticed that some of them would write their own songs to release. I myself have an interest in writing songs, thus being a famous singer is in some ways fulfilling my interests. I will feel very happy with my work when i noticed that my fans seemed to enjoy my songs that I work hard to write. Thus I may sometimes feel stressed up in work, however it will be worth it when i see that people enjoyed listening to the songs I spent time in

(b) What might be the possible disadvantages of becoming famous at an early age?
Being famous at a young age also means that you will have to work from a young age, this means that you will not be able to go to school as often as others, which limits their exposure to education. For example, a member from Ateez rarely went to school as he was busy training as a trainee.
Being famous at a young age will also be very pressurising and stressful as they are faced with many rules and expectations from a young age,and as someone who is younger and less experienced, they would tend to make more mistakes. This will cause them to be extremely stressed and would cause them to spend and unhealthy amount of time practising, many times barely sleeping. This will lead them to being burnt out and would worsen their mental health

(c) How far do you agree that celebrities have a duty to act as responsible role models for their fans?
I agree that celebrities have a duty to act as responsible role models for their fans as fans are easily influenced by their idols. For example, they would wear similar cloths to what they wore or go to the place their idols have been to. Even for me, as a Kpop fan, I would sometimes watch idols encouragement and quotes to keep me motivated to study. If famous singers were to be bad role models, fans are more likely to follow suit, which may cause fans to lose respect for the singer.
However I also feel that it is sometimes alright for famous singers to make mistakes sometimes as it is a reminder that they are human too and would sometimes do wrong things out of anger or sadness.

a) I would feel honoured as many people acknowledge that what i do as a profession, singing is done well.I would feel nervous as well as many eyes would be on me as I sing, causing me stress as I have stage fright.
b)There would be large amounts of criticism which would be hard to deal with especially at a young age, potential leading to a decrease in mental health or even depression. Some might even develop a bad attitude as they think they as they are very popular, they might be very arrogant
c)I agree to a large extent as some fans are inspired by their idols , by acting irresponsibly would cause some of their fans to act in the same way as their idol. For example , if a instagram idol starts criticising without evidence, their fans would join in and criticise even though no evidence is provided and the information could be false and also cause them to act out in a bad way as their idols are drinking on camera and influence some of their younger audiences to start drinking alcohol at a illegal age, influencing them to break laws.I disagree as the idols are free to express themselves and should not feel restricted on a platform to voice out their thoughts and character, causing them to be unhappy and not passionate about their career or choices as they have to put up a persona which is unhealthy and detrimental to tell mental health

(a) I think the children feel extremely intrigued by the new technology they are exposed to. this new form of learning is something new and exciting to them as evident from the video. they also look like they are having fun learning with the help of the new technology.

(b) I think it is a good idea for children to be exposed to such advance skills at a young age. this is because the world is constantly progressing forward and we're slowly advancing to a technological-savvy industry. if children were to be exposed to new skills, they would be able to further enhance on it at a later age, giving them the opportunity to climb up the 'tech-savvy' ladder at a faster and steadier pace; as compared to the older people that grasp on this new skill at a later age. however, I also disagree that children should be exposed to such skills at a young age. as kids, they should have the luxury of having fun amongst themselves and not be piled up with technological skills at such a young age. the average kid should be allowed to in-cooperate fun and learning all in 'one umbrella'. their learning should be focused on the fundamentals such as phonics, learning alphabets, learning how to write and learning how to spell. not learning how to code at this young age.

(c) I do not agree with this thinking. not only should a student be allowed to participate in co-circular activities such as dance, but they should also be allowed to have a work-life balance. this is to ensure that the student body does not overwork himself or herself of their personal life. this also ensures that the average secondary student will not be overloaded with schoolwork, and forfeit his or her passion/ hobbies over school. by spending time learning other skills, it equips the student with new knowledge and fundamentals that can help the student in one way or another. for instance, direct school admission. moreover, this teaches the student to learn how to properly manage his or her time dedicated to each part of their lives. they are mature enough to properly plan out and carry out the respective activities.

(a) if i were to be as famous as the artists shown above, I would feel extremely pressured to perform well as society today are not only extremely critical with everything they view online; whether it be appearance wise or performance wise. hence, I would feel extremely suffocated due to the pressure and expectations I would have to meet, in order to avoid the negative feedback from others.

(b) some disadvantages could be excessive time spent on producing content for internet users. this not only separates time away from our personal lifestyle, it also forfeits us of our own personal time. one would not be able to devote enough time to his family or friends. moreover, one will face an extremely busy schedule and they will be unable to catch up on other important things such as academics and personal reflection time. many of times, a lot of travelling is required; this would not only waste precious time that could be devoted elsewhere but also inculcates an extremely packed and rushed schedule to follow-through. another disadvantage is lack of a proper support system. every now and then, these idols would receive both positive and negative feedback from society. if one does not have the proper support system from his or her family or peers, he could fall into a detrimental state such as depression or severe anxiety. he could also undergo excessive pressure to do better for the sake of popularity growth.
thus, the disadvantages of being famous at a young age.

(c) I agree to a large extent. this is because these celebrities hold one of the biggest social media platforms for content and influence purposes. their actions are largely view upon by many netizens from all over and every small action could place an influence on someone. hence, these celebrities should use their platform to the fullest advantage and be good role models to their followers to make the world a better place. these celebrities are also followed by people as young as 5 years old. any negative actions could be absorbed by a vulnerable individual who will then commit the 'monkey see monkey do' actions.

a) the people are very enthusiastic about the upcoming national day and are thus hence excited to put up decorations to show how much love they have for their nation singapore.
b) national day did not mean anything much last time other than the national day parade which I found intresting. but as i grew older i realised the significance of national day and grew love over the country. i realised how national day isnt all about the national day parade but realising how this nation came through alot of hardships in the past and became one of the best countries around the world now in a short span of time.
c) I think it is very important for countires to celbreate its national day as it has alot of significance behind it on how it gained independance after the many wars its been through and a time for us to relaise and give thanks to the government for their help to make the country safer for all

a) I feel that the children will be engaged and will be enthused to join in the activity as they seem to be very engrossed in the activity and seem to want to learn more which can be seen from their smiley faces.
b) I think that it is a good idea for children to learn alot from a yong age as they are able to gain early childhood development which can lead them to be engageding learners in the future. This can lead the children to learn thing faster which can thus make the world a easier place for all.
c) I agree as students now their main focus is to study and do well in their exams like the major exam of O level yes, there should be time for them to learn other things nut it should not be overtaking their study time.
