What is the DSM 5 criteria for your disorder?<br>The predominant disturbance is one or more episodes of inability to recall important personal information, usually of a traumatic or stressful nature, that is too extensive to be explained by ordinary forgetfulness. 
<br>The disturbance does not occur exclusively during the course of Dissociative Identity Disorder, Dissociative Fugue, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Acute Stress Disorder, or Somatization Disorder and is not due to the direct physiological effects of a substance (e.g., a drug of abuse, a medication) or a neurological or other general medical condition (e.g., Amnestic Disorder Due to Head Trauma).

The symptoms cause clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning.<br>b. What are the symptoms associated with your disorder?<br> Memory loss (amnesia) of certain time periods, events, people and personal information
<br>A sense of being detached from yourself and your emotions
<br>A perception of the people and things around you as distorted and unreal
<br>A blurred sense of identity

<br>Inability to cope well with emotional or professional stress

What are&nbsp; the different treatments/therapies used to treat this disorder?<br>Psychotherapy, Cognitive-Behavioral- therapy, Dialectic Behavior Therapy, Creative therapy outlets (art, music etc.), medication, meditation/relaxation techniques.<br>b. Pick one therapy and explain more in depth how this therapy is used for your disorder/when this therapy should be used<br>Creative outlets such as music or other forms of art can be therapeutic for people suffering. It allows people to explore and express themselves in an environment which they can feel safe in.&nbsp;<br>c. Find a local program that treats this specific disorder and explain what this person/facility does<br>Evers Psychological Associates. They claim that they allow patients different types of treatment. By offering different types of treatment patients can be given help from the type of treatment best suited to them.</div>]]></description>
