Secondly, since nuclear power plants utilize water in the cooling process, they cause damage to the local environments of fish and plants alike. 

And lastly, for countries whose economies depend on agriculture, the construction of these plants is more dangerous. The construction is not only costly, but difficult as well. These are three reasons why I am against Nuclear Power. 

 Jemuel:
 1) I think that nuclear energy should be used as a energy production method. I believe nuclear energy is better for the economy than other energy production methods.
 2) What other energy production methods are more efficient than nuclear energy?

Alexander:
(@Inoue) Nuclear power plants certainly make use of water. However, since we do not release water until it is processed, there is no effect on the environment in this regard.

Alexander:
Japan has decommissioned many nuclear power plants. Also, 
Until March 11, 2011, Japan's power generation was scheduled to rise to 40% with nuclear power already at 30%. Compared to today's 1.7%, it is a very big change. Currently, Japan needs to import a lot of resources to generate energy. Is there a solution to this problem?

Jordan:
Nuclear power plants hurt the environment. Nuclear power plants use a water cooling system, which cools the reactor by draining water from the sea and the river. When the water returns to where it came from, it is warmer than before (Temperatures can exceed 25 Celsius) which can kill fish and plants.

Jemuel: 
(@Jordan) Once this cooling process is properly carried out, the impact on the environment is minimal.

Kyle:
(@Jordan)  That might be true, but Nuclear energy is much better than coal, as coal contributes to global warming. Not only that but nuclear power generation is better for the world, as well as the japan's economy. Until there is an effective and renewable alternative, I think Japan should make more use of Nuclear Energy. 

Tajia:
I think that nuclear energy is cheap. The people in the nearby vicinity can be affected by harmful radiation. Specifically the area near Kozenhoku rice paddy field reported a higher number of congenital disorders as well as cancer. There are many other alternatives that could be used. 

Jordan:
(@Jemuel)  I think that sunlight is a good substitute for nuclear power plants. Sunlight will be cheaper. Every year it improves, becomes more efficient, and versatile. Energy storage was a major problem for people, but it will change with new developments.

And the solar panel has various forms. There are roads of solar panels and clear things cheaply and flexible, and even those with windows. Unlike nuclear power generation, there is no worry of releasing harmful substances.

Inoue:
(@ Alexander) I think that is also a big problem. They cannot rely on nuclear power generation, so they have to find another power supply. So now they are using renewable energy, but currently the demand is bigger than supply, so they should use nuclear power generation. Environment and economic stability are important in Japan though
