I believe the greatest threat to Antarctica is the ice melting is this will have a massive affect on not just Antarctica but the world as the sea levels will rise by 70 m causing all coastal towns and villages to be submerged. Antarctica will become a rocky wasteland inhospitable by its previous natural wildlife. Which will cause the wildlife food webs and food chains will be absolutely demolished. Also the glaciers are carving which means that the ice is falling off of the glaciers and floating in the oceans and bays around Antarctica. This creates a watery icy mess that fills these oceans making it merely impossible for penguins to get out to the open ocean as they can neither walk or swim on this ice allowing them to be picked of by leopard seals decreasing their population. Antarctica holds a whopping 70% of the worlds fresh ice is held here causing us to lose a vital dependable life source.

The greatest threat to Antartica is tourism because this can disrupt animal patterns, pollution from planes and boats. Oil can easily leak from boats and this will kill lots of wildlife. Tourism is expensive, but people with money still can go there and disrupt Antartica. Animals will not be able to adapt quick enough from all the pollution from boats and plane and the rest of the world. If tourism disrupts wildlife massively, animals will die and the whole food web will collapse.

I think the greatest threat is climate change as it is making the ice carve quicker which means there is less place to rest for the animals. It also means that the minerals underneath the ice will eventually start to be exposed, which means countries may race to get at those resources and it may start a war, which would just destroy Antarctica even more.

In my opinion, the greatest threat to Antarctica is Melting sea ice. This is unfortunately happening on a large scale. The melting of this ice is called carving. This, in turn creates brash ice which makes hunting hard for many species of wildlife, including the penguins, because of it's large and sharp shape. If this carries on, there will be no ice left on Antarctica. This ice will instead raise the sea levels submerging many coastal towns and cities. The result will be catastrophic.

Henry Eyles ............................................Over fishing may cause the food web to begin to collapse causing animal extinction unless some species of animals can adapt. As the ice is melting it is beginning to cause the ice to melt creating large blocks of ice in the water. this causes the penguins to have to go further out to get to open sea where they are vulnerable to leopard seals and many predators of the penguins.

One of the threats to Antarctica is that the ice is melting which is cause lose of nature habitats for the wildlife living on Antarctica. If all of the ice melts, Antarctica's animals will have to adapt to new environments. Ice in the ocean is called bash ice (they are usually 2 metre thick) and it will make hunting for food harder of the animals that live on Antarctica's ice.

Climate Change- I think that the increase in climate change is making ice melt quicker. This leads to land loss, calving's and also sea levels rising. All of these are endangering our planet. A: The loss of the land is bad for the animals as they are loosing their natural habitat. B: Calving is causing more brash ice killing more animals each year, especially baby penguins as they go for their first dives into the water. C: Sea levels rising are a increasingly big threat as countries are starting to be engulfed. Places like Holland ( 6.7 Meters or 22 feet below sea level) that are below sea level hugely will be submerged, along with other places in the world. This Needs to change. That is why i think that climate change is the biggest threat to antartica

I think the greatest threat to Antartica is Climate Change because with climate change animals die so the food chain could collapse or the animals will just have to adapt, but more and more animals are dying because of the lose of ice, penguins find it harder to swim in the little bits of ice from carving so they are slower in the water so all of the seals can eat the penguins easier.
