The homestead strike was when the workers for the Carnegie steel Company had a strike because of how poorly they were being treated and the terrible working conditions they worked in. When the Amalgamated Association asked for a wage increase Frick responded with a wage decrease. Frick decided to lock the workers out of the plant with a tall fence topped with barbed wire. Workers decided to strike and surrounded the plant to make sure no strikebreakers would enter. Frick had to hire guards to keep them out. Pinkertons arrived, shots were fired, and people were killed on both sides.

Workers say that the low prices at walmart are so low because they are unjust to their workers. The shifts were not divided by managers but they were chosen by a computer at the main headquarters of walmart. The workers were tired of this and decided to strike againt it and wanted them to unionize and get their workers what they deserved instead of a computer deciding everything for them.

The similarities between the two were the fact that they were both being treated unjust and werent getting what they deserved for how hard they worked. The difference between the two is that the homestead strikers were more intense with their strike and they had to have a fence built to hold them back. They got to the point where blood was shed and lives were lost during the process of what they were doing.

Workers were the ones being drowned which is why they stood up for themselves and went on strikes because they were not being treated the way they should be by their employers.
