  Jacquetta Melvin has over 13 years of experience on clinical interdisciplinary teams providing obstetrical and gynecological care. Originally from Fayetteville, NC, she completed her PA education at Howard University in 2008, and then completed her MPH at UNC Chapel Hill with a concentration in Maternal and Child Health in 2011. She is currently a faculty member at the Duke PA Program, within the Family Medicine and Community Health Department at the Duke School of Medicine. Prior to joining the faculty at Duke, she served as faculty at UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine where she led the Benign Gynecology inpatient service and served as a clinical preceptor for UNC physician assistant and medical students. Jacquetta is the immediate past president of the Association of PA’s in OB/GYN. Her special interests include preventative gynecological care, contraception, first trimester pregnancy care, cervical cancer prevention, eliminating racial health disparities in OBGYN care, and health policy advocacy for marginalized populations.
