Something that you can say is "anti-modern" is a old fashioned sketchbook. In the upcoming years you can see that the act of doodling or drawing has gravitated towards the technological world. With Ipad's now having procreate to mimic different types of art mediums and new apple pens constantly having different tips, it's rare to see fresh artist's pick up the actual art medium. To me, having a personal sketchbook like this is almost intimate. You have no worries about your art ever being involved in some sort of data breach or having to worry about saving it/ accidentally deleting it. The thought of being able to just pull out your sketchbook when seeing something you'd love to draw and not worrying about the battery life is anti-modern. Another thing that I enjoy about having a sketchbook compared to drawing on a tech device is, in my opinion, you get to keep your creativity flowing. I feel like its easy to have access to AI or the internet to rely on inspiration these days, but when you have the physical object it forces you to look at the real world to gather insight and ideas.
