That apology came 3 months too late. If you make a mistake, own up and own up fast. All leaders, good or bad, will make mistakes. The best own up to them and bear the consequences. Because of how late it came, and how clinical it was, the apology feels like a move to save face more than anything else.

It doesn't matter if it was or wasn't, the point is, that's how it looks to most people. And because of her, the reputation of the Worker's Party has been smeared in the eyes of most people.
