<title>	Richard the lion heart	Richard the lion heart was born in 1157 in Beaumont Palace in Oxford. He was also called Richard l of England or Richard Cæur de Lion because he was a great military leader and a warrior. He was the king of England from 6th July 1189 until his death in 1199. He died when he was 42 years old. Richard the lion heart was the third of five son of king Henry ll of England and duchess Eleanor of Aquitaine. King Henry ll was the king of England the years before Richard the lion heart.Richard spoke French and Occitan. He was born in England and he spent his childhood there before he became king. In his adult life, he lived mostly in the duchy of Aquitaine in southwest France. When he was 16 he had put down rebellions in Poitou against his father king Henry ll. He had his own army. There were some lands Richard were promised by his father. His father did not give him, so Richard took it with his own army. He was a Christian and when he was king, many Jewish homes were burnt down. He and Filip ll August and Leopold 5 conquered Kypros, Acre and Jaffa. In 1192 he was prisoned in Austria but he was ransom by someone unknown and he came back. His brother Johan had taken his lands. He had to fight against Johan´s army. Richard the lion heart won but he did not keep the lands for so long because he died. After he had taken the land he was promised he spent only six months in England. He was defending his lands he had won in France too. He was a younger brother of count William IX of Poitiers, Henry the young king and duchess Matilda of Saxony. His wet nurse was Hodierna of St. Albans. She was breastfeeding him because his mother chose not to do that. Before he went to Kypros a time he married Berengaria of Navarre. They were married in Limassol in the chapel of St. George. They went to Kypros but came back separately. There was some trouble with the travel. It was very difficult to go home later. Berengaria came to England after many years. Richard the lion heart was dead when she came to England again. He died in a battle versus France in Limoges. His heart was kept in a tomb at Rouen cathedral. The roman catholic cathedral is in Normandy in France. The picture is from a tomb in a church in Fontevraud. Source: snl.no and Wikipedia	</title>
