GENIKO LYKEIO MIKRAS: 20 students from 10th Grade and two teachers

COLEGIO SAN ISIDRO: 18 students from 9th Grade and two teachers

The school prides itself on combining academic 🎓 rigor with a strong emphasis on values, character development, and global-mindedness 🌍.

Its bilingual curriculum integrates English 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 and Spanish 🇪🇸 full-time.

Facilities include modern classrooms, a science 🔬lab, an art 🎨 studio, a library📖, an auditorium, sports fields, and an outdoor gym💪.

Students practice in school judo🥋, tai-chi, rugby 🏉 and hockey 🏑 next to general Physical Education.

The school has a rugby and hockey club (San Isidro College Club) as well as a Dojo where students compete with other clubs in the area.

School hours ⏰ are from 8 am - 4:20 pm from Monday to Friday.

I like playing rugby, listening music, and meeting friends.

I really like doing things that are related to art: drawing, painting, doing pottery. And I also enjoy doing outside activities and watching series :)

• Higher Education (universities and colleges).

Primary Education is six or seven years depending on the province and secondary education is 5-6 years. In our province, Salta, the split is 7 years primary and 5 years secondary.

Education is compulsory from age 4 through the end of secondary school, ensuring that children receive a minimum of 13 years of schooling.

The system includes both public and private schools. Public schools are state-funded and offer free education, making them the primary choice for many families. Private schools, which charge tuition, often provide bilingual programs or follow international curricula.

San Isidro College offers apart from a bilingual program for all years, a Dual Diploma in secondary education.

1. Primary Education (Dimotiko): This lasts six years, starting at age 6. It is free and compulsory. It includes general subjects like mathematics, language, history, and physical education.

2. Secondary Education: This is divided into two stages:

   • Lower Secondary (Gymnasio): Lasts three years and is compulsory for students aged 12-15. It provides a general curriculum.

   • Upper Secondary (Lykeio): Also lasts three years, and students can choose between general Lyceum or vocational education at a Vocational Lyceum (EPAL).

3. Tertiary Education: Greece has public universities. Admission is competitive and based on national exams (Panhellenic exams).

This number illustrates the significant increase in the school’s student population over time, largely due to the influx of new residents in the area. The rapid development and housing growth in the wider region led to a substantial rise in student numbers, and by the school year 2011-12, the Lyceum had 471 students. This surge caused a space shortage, as the school lacked enough classrooms and that is the reason why ever since 2012-13, there have been two Lyceums in the area.

Today, the Lyceum has around 350 students and 25 teachers specializing in various subjects. Students, typically aged 15 to 18, follow a diverse curriculum including Greek language and literature, mathematics, history, physics, chemistry, foreign languages, and physical education. The school also has a computer lab, a science lab, and a small theater for cultural activities.

School hours are from 8.10 am - 2.10 pm from Monday to Friday.

Located by the Aegean Sea it blends ancient and modern aspects. The White Tower is a must-see landmark! Aristotelous Square is always bustling with activity. The Upper Town, or Ano Poli, features narrow streets and charming old houses. You can’t miss historical sites like the Rotunda and the Arch of Galerius. The city’s food scene is amazing, with plenty of local dishes to try.

Thessaloniki is without a doubt a must-visit destination, offering endless opportunities for exploration and discovery!

Secondly, we will take you to Thessaloniki Science Center and Technology Museum (NOESIS). This museum is super engaging and perfect for young minds.The hands-on exhibits and planetarium shows are both fun and educational.

Lastly, we will take you to Aristotelous Square. This central square is a hub of activity, surrounded by shops cafes and beautiful architecture. It's a great place to hang out, people-watch and take some cool photos.

Thessaloniki has a vibrant music scene that's full of energy and creativity. Whether you're into live concerts or underground gigs, Thessaloniki has definitely something for everyone!

There are many singers who come from Thessaloniki but those who have stood out are; Marinella, Socrates Malamas and among musical bands The Xilina Spathia.

The sport scene in Thessaloniki is mainly dominated by three main teams:

-Iraklis

-Aris

-PΑΟΚ

Iraklis is the oldest sports team of Thessaloniki with the most history. Unfortunately for the last 15 years he hasn't been doing very well due to some financial problems.

Aris, on the other hand has gathered a lot of fans over the years mainly because of his big success in basketball as he was one of the best teams in Europe in the past.

Last but not least, PΑΟΚ. Over the last 10 years, PΑΟΚ has been one of the best Greek teams and is also known for having the biggest and most passionate fanbaseAs a matter of fact, even Maradona himself said, after a match of Napoli against PΑΟΚ, that he hadn't seen such an outstanding crowd before in his many years of playing.
