The nervous system is a system in the human body. This particular system has many branching nerves that are all around your body. The branches let us feel when we are touching things (smooth, rough, bumpy). The main features of the nervous system that need to be working in order for in to work is the brain and the nerves. When ever you feel pain your nerves will send electromagnetic pulses to your brain and your brain will get your body to react to the pain. Most of the nerves in your body connect to your spinal cord which acts like Kwinanna freeway of your body

Nerves are made up of bundles of neutrons. They are specialised cells that carry messages to the brain. Most nerves connect to the spinal cord. The spinal cord acts like a highway for our nervous system. The spinal cord helps us send messages to the brain. Our brain controls the response. Other neutrons and nerves in a different positions make up the Peripheral Nervous System (PNS). The nervous system controls everything we think, do and feel. The Peripheral Nervous System has 2 parts/functions. The 2 different parts/functions of the PNS are the Somatic Nervous System and the Autonomic Nervous System. The Somatic Nervous System runs all of voluntary actions and a few of our involuntary actions. The Somatic Nervous System send information to the Centrak Nervous System (CNS), then receives the messages and allows us to make our muscles flex. Almost all our involuntary actions are done by the Autonomic Nervous System. The Autonomic Nervous System is always active. It’s even active when we are asleep. It makes sure our heart is always beating and we are always breathing. The Autonomic Nervous System is also I charge when we cough or sneeze and also when our pupils expand int the dark do we can see better.

The nervous system is the system of nerves in your body in which brain waves travel through to get to different muscles or parts of the body. It is also responsible for you being able to feel pain. There are also some functions in which autonomously make you do certain actions like if you touch something sharp, your body will make you jolt back before the brain even gets a signal.

There are structures that help the nerve impulses from the brain move around the body quicker. I’m not sure what they’re called (yet) but if you imagine dominos and rulers you can understand. If you stack the dominoes close together and tip them, they knock each other down one by one in a few seconds. If, however you did it with rulers, it can move over 30 centimetres in one go per ruler instead of say 1cm per domino (bad explanation). These structures pass the impulses over longer distances then if they just ran down the nerve.
The send impulses from the brain to the body and back. That’s why you are paralysed if you break your neck; the brain can’t send impulses to that part of the body and that part of the body can’t send impulses to the brain.

The nervous system is made up of a series of nerves through the body that send electric signals to the brain. The nervous system helps to direct movement, and alerts you to pain. It would be very dangerous to not have a nervous system, as it would be much easier to seriously injure ourselves, becaus we wouldn't feel anything, and would be unaware of the damage we were doing.

The nervous system is the control center for the body. It consists of our spinal cord and brain (central nervous system) and 43 pairs of nerves (peripheral nervous system) branching throughout the body connecting the CNS to various muscles and organs. The nervous system detects either internal or external changes through sensory receptors, sends electrical impulses to the spinal cord and brain which process the information and decides what to do. It then sends another impulse back through the motor neurons which stimulate the effector (either skin, muscle, organ, etc). The nervous system helps us to perform basic functions such as walking, smiling and talking, along with other critical functions that are performed inside our body involuntarily. These functions are controlled by the autonomic nervous system and include things such as; blood pressure, heart rate, digestion and respiration. The autonomic nervous system is a division of the peripheral nervous system, along with the somatic nervous system. The somatic nervous system handles all muscular responses and voluntary actions such as the ones mentioned earlier. The autonomic nervous system can be even further divided into the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. The sympathetic nervous system handles the body’s “fight or flight” response. It is the body’s way of responding to a perceived threat and causes general alertness and excitement. It speeds up our heart rate and breathing, causes the adrenal glands to release adrenaline and noradrenaline, causes us to sweat, and inhibits the digestion process. The parasympathetic nervous system does the opposite. This is to maintain balance in the body. The parasympathetic nervous system handles the “rest and digest” response. It calms down the body and restores restfulness to the body in order to preserve energy. It activates the digestion process, slows down our heart rate and breathing, decreases the amount of adrenaline being produced, and increases salivation.
