Born in north-west Pakistan on the 12th of July, 1997. Malala followed in her fathers footsteps, Ziauddin Yousafazi, he shared with her his love of education and Malala thrived from attending school. As a child Malala’s home town was busy and a popular tourist spot making it a vibrant place to live but this didn’t last as the Taliban tried to dominate the town. The Taliban started to attack girl’s schools in belief that girls and women should be not educated. Malala lived with the threats from the Taliban taking her ability to be educated. She begun to blog and update her progress to the BBC while using a fake name to protect herself from the Taliban but her identity was unfortunately released, along with her speeches and activism she had dispatched the Taliban was so aggravated by this that they declared a death threat against the young girl. She was 15 at the time and her family believed that the Taliban would be reluctant to harm a child as young as her. On the 9th of October, 2012, Malala was traveling home from school on a bus with her friends when a member of the Taliban boarded the bus and tragically shot Malala, injuring her head and neck. Her two friends were also harmed in this inhuman attack. Malala was left in such a critical condition that she was transferred from Pakistan to England to receive further care. After recovering from a medical induced coma, brain damage and multiple surgeries she continued to take action on girl’s education. In 2013 she was nominated for the nobel piece prize, she unfortunate did not win but the following year she nominated again and won. she is the youngest person to receive this prize and with many other achievements she has inspired and changed the world.

Seen is currently one of the most influential people in the world. Malala has funds in her name contributing to the education to young girls, in 2015 she opened a school for young female Syrian refugees in Lebanon. Despite her fear of the Taliban Malala continued her activist work at such a young age truly challenging them, even after she was shot she continued to work hard and prove them wrong, they could not defeat her. Its was a terrifying risk that the brave girl took, she put her life on the line for young and disadvantaged  girls all over the world. Coming terrifyingly close to death has not fazed her in the way of her activist work. Obviously Malala frustrated the Taliban to an extreme degree but she has most of the world on her side.

She says that what has inspired her the most is simply the support of the people around her whether that be her family or the people in the UK where she now lives. She explains how their love has strengthened her and contributed to her ability to act on girl’s education. Despite Malala’s deep beliefs in girl’s education the Taliban, of course had different beliefs. They despised education for girls but what is most interesting about this is the way the two sides perceive their religion. This has challenged me to stick with your beliefs and not lose hope no matter how drastic the consequences are.
