 When browsing the internet for relevant information Chladek says he "got tired of finding small text snippets, occasionally bad pictures, and mostly information that related to the book but didn't give an impression of the actual size, the print quality and so on".

The book’s production initially stemmed from a series of programmes on punk presented by Hennessy for ATV, which at the time of their release were described by one critic as a ‘chaotic disaster’, and by another as  ‘a triumph of originality’. Similarly, the tone of this book has been somewhat contentious, and the subject of bemused disapproval by many. However, conflicting opinions aside, the text of the book does little to compete with its strong selection of images, which depict proud and riotous London youths, clearly revelling in the freedom punk offered. Surprisingly, it is the discordant tone of In the Gutter which gives us such a vivid and particular insight into the punk movement as it was seen and (mis-)conceived from the outside.

I really like this book because  of it simple cover but i like the fact half way through t 
he book you get this purple background this changes up the style of the book.but then it goes back to the white background which i also like because it makes the photo standout and gives and interesting effect for the viewer when the background changes throughout the book.

He was born in 1866 and died in 1959.Jones started off as a gardener and still life photography that took photos of fruit,flowers and vegetables.Jones work was not widely known until after he had died and his family didn't know that he had documented hundreds of photos of fruit and flowers.Jones work was discovered in a suitcase by Sean Sexton.
Jones work is mainly in private collections and in difference museums around the world.
my opinion on his work is that i like the still life effect to the photos and it also gives it an abstract effect.
I think that Jones had profected taking still life photography by taking hundreds and hundreds of photos of fruit,you can see this in his amazing framing and the perfect lighting also giving of this high key effect which I really like because it gives the effect that the photos have been shot in a professionally shot.
Jones used a 35mm camera to shoot his images,it would've been really difficult for him to get the lighting just right and to also develop the perfectly.

I found a book by Charles Jones, he photographs fruit, vegetables and flowers and creates interesting compositions. I also looked at work by Edward Western who works in a similar way. Westerns work is a little more abstract; vegetables are lit and photographed to look like body parts.

For this shoot i had now money to get any fruit so i used a plant that i found in the classroom.The camera i used for this shoot was the canon 5d mark 3 with with a 18 to 55mm lens.
The camera settings where iso on 100 and the aperture was on 8 or 9 and my shutter speed was on 60th of a second I also used a black background to get make the plant stand out more.I just used a normal light with a flute on it.I found it hard to get the camera to focus on the subject so i had to manually focus it.
When taking the photos i was thinking about the framing and trying to get as much detailed and sharp as possible.
The reason i only did a contact sheet of 20 images was because if i had taken any more they would all look the same.

Watson is one of the most well known  photographers in the world.
Watson has worked and still works for  the rolling stone magazine  in the 1970s and some in the early 2000s amd Watson also works for vogue Watson has also but his work in museums all off the world he has also done some major campaigns with levis, prada and chanel.
Watsons monochrome photos have this dark creepy aspect but in some of them Watson manipulates the lighting to make the photo more intense.
Watson is well known for is large format photography.Waton used to use a 4x5 houseman camera but most of his photos have been shot on a nikon or on  a hasselblad.Watson has photographed some very famous people such as David bowie,50 cent,Billie joe armstrong, Tupac Shakur, Alfred hitchcock and Kate moss.
I think that Watson work is amazing but i find that his monochrome  photography is his best work because i think that they each tell a different and unique story.
I Think the way Watson manipulates his subject perfectly so the framing and composition is perfect.I like the way that Watson creates the high contrast and still keeps his photos sharp.
