         <description><![CDATA[<div>The field of dance embraces a common, human kinesthetic expression accessible across cultures and time. Through the discipline of movement we cultivate an understanding and practice of collaboration, which encompasses communication, creativity, diversity, and adaptability that facilitate living in a complex world. Our program focuses on the comprehensive integration of artistic, verbal, written and technological forms. The curriculum specifically supports the practice of choreography/creative problem solving as an integrative process, strong collaboration, observation and analytical skills, and the development of a versatile mind.<br>&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;Our modern dance based program offers a comprehensive curriculum in choreography, performance and production, integrated with theoretical, historical, cultural and practical studies in dance. We contribute to the cultural environment of the university, community and region through high quality productions and by providing opportunities to engage with the art of dance. We provide the general university student with studies in the practice, history and aesthetics of dance.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Ohio University’s School of Dance provides an educational environment in the dance studio, classroom and the stage allowing for personalized attention on the individual student’s development and interests in dance. The School of Dance recognizes and celebrates the complex and uniquely exquisite difference of body and its expressivity through moving/motion, creativity, and sharing/collaboration while cultivating the students’ artistic potential and individual voice. Situated within the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, the School of Dance provides modes for participating in society through performance, protest, education, moving, communicating, mentoring, and healing.</title>

         <title>The School of Dance is a center for dance teaching, learning, performance, and creative work in Southeast Ohio.  We believe that dance has the power to transform lives, celebrate diversity, and produce socially-aware citizens. We balance individualized attention with group sensitivity, developing the whole person. Through diverse modes of engagement, students come to better understand their many talents and interests that extend through and beyond the multidisciplinary activities of the field of dance.</title>
