]]> 2024-01-05 22:02:44 UTC https://padlet.com/giselleemmons/zje44557gtsimywc/wish/2840029068 Dr. Bean giselleemmons https://padlet.com/giselleemmons/zje44557gtsimywc/wish/2840029069 I plan to follow in the foot steps of one of my former students -- Linda Flinn.  Linda got involved with Soldier's Angels where participants make care pages for deployed soldiers.  Linda spent many hours bonding over email with her service member, learning about her family and experiences in the military, and teaching her own daughter the importance of supporting those who are supporting us.   I would like to engage in this activity because although I can feel gratitude for those serving their country, I want to engage in activities that directly show them. Writing emails/letters -- taking time to get to know those defending our freedoms -- seems like such a small but valuable act of service to let them know we care and appreciate them.   Sharing little care items to help them get through their hard days away from family and friends will certainly bring joy and feelings of appreciation. ]]> 2024-01-05 22:02:44 UTC https://padlet.com/giselleemmons/zje44557gtsimywc/wish/2840029069
