This is on the Pacific coast of Vancouver Island (about 2/3rds north and west on the island). It's an extremely rugged (and can be very dangerous) landscape, but it is beautiful and relaxing. Near to here, there is a fair bit of surfing and even sand beaches. The most well-known is Long Beach, Tofino.

This what I can see looking looking out the window. In my area we don't usually have freezing winters but this one is an exception. There were a couple of days when it was so cold that seemed to last for ever. Today temperatures have plummeted although, it was pretty good weather yesterday. Every time I go outside it becomes so cold I can see my breath and I have to rub my hands together to keep them warm. It’s proper hat and scarf weather!

This winter is really frosty and snowy. In our city it's very unusual, cause we never have got loads of deep snowdrifts. They are so deep that you can drown in them! But it's very relaxing to feel crunchy snow under feet.
