This is Nike's first commercial, where they showed their slogan "Just do it" that is tied to the brand even nowadays. In the video, 80-year-old Walt Stack is shown running and he says he runs 17 miles every morning, despite being so old, and then jokes about how he keeps his teeth from shattering in the winter by leaving them in his locker.
What is interesting about this ad and the slogan is the fact that it originated from convicted murderer Gary Gilmore, who said it just before getting excecuted. Although at the time they did not pay much attention to this fact, it shows the brand's tendency to make clever use of controversial topics to strengthen their mission of inspiring people through sports, as the slogan used in this ad, that is still tied to the brand, became very famous and allowed the company to become much more famous.

Although some people may deem the slogan as a command, the phrase "Just do it" can be relatable to all people, no matter their age, gender or background, as it talks about how people should pursue their dreams and that the time to work for them is now. In the case of the video, Walt Stack inspires the audience because, despite the fact that he is 80 years old, he is still running like a young person, communicating to the audience that despite the limitations that you or the world may give you, you should work as hard as you can for what you want to achieve. Refering to Nike, the slogan also helps unite their different advertising campaigns about how sports help inspire people.

First of all, it impacted me due to the fact that I did not know that "Just do it" was the slogan of the company, as I thought it was just a common phrase. This shows the impact that the slogan and the brand has had on the world, inspiring athletes and people who want to achieve their dreams in general to work for them, and "just do it" because the thing that stops you the most is yourself.

This is a series of video clips joined together in a continious chain of motion, a "human chain" where several athletes are shown practicing and participating in their respectives sports. At the beginning, the athletes are shown playing their sports, and as the video advances, they are shown falling and feeling down. Then they get up and keep persevering, which with the help of the rising excitement that the music called “Ali in the Jungle”, a track by British band The Hours, provides, the audience finally gets to feel invigorated.
On the other hand, this advertising campaign, coinciding with the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, celebrates perseverance in athletic disciplines, meaning that a good athlete does not achieve his dreams because of perfection, but rather due to their capacity to overcome adversity and getting up one more time.

There are several aspects such as:
- The use of several athletes such as South African runner Oscar Pistorius, Spanish footballer Sergio Aguero, and cyclist Lance Armstrong alongside lesser known athletes, all joined through a continous "chain of motion", help the audience connect with the message of the video, despite where they live in or which sport they might like the most.
- The music also helps create a greater feeling of power as it connects to what is happening in the video. Quotes such as "It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish." inspire the audience to persevere and get up despite the circumstances.
- The objective of celebrating perseverance in athletic disciplines also helps strengthen the brand's message.
- This can be connected to the global issue of Culture, identity and community, as it speaks about no matter where you come from or who you are, you should fight for what you want to achieve.

The advertising campaign talks about not only having dreams, but having bigger dreams that may sound "crazy" and striving to achieve them. In the video, narrated by Colin Kaepernick, a football quarterback who is a free agent, several inspirational stories of athletes with disabilities and hard backgrounds are shown, and then it encourages the audience to have "crazy dreams", meaning to have as an objective to be the best person you can possibly be. Aditionally, the campaign has as its face Kaepernick, which is a very controversial player, who decided to protest against social injustice, racism and police brutallity in the United States by kneeling down while his national anthem was playing in a game. This caused divisions, as there were people who where against it, mainly people who served in the military and saw it offensive to their country, and people who praised it.

In the same way as the other two advertisings, this one had a good message to inspire people to achieve their dreams, specifically to not be afraid of having big dreams. However, in this one, Nike made a more clever use of controversy by having as the face of the advertising campaign someone who was relatable and had a background more corresponding to what he fought for. In this way, Nike wanted to inspire people to fight for what they believed in, no matter if they would risk everything. Even though this caused some Americans to go against Nike because of this, at the end, it was very effective to transmit their message and reinforce their brand. It can be connected to the global issue of politics, power and justice, as this advertisement fights for justice for blacks in the United States, and how politics and power in the country limit or even fights against them.

Aditionally, in a more personal sense, it inspires me to achieve bigger things in what I have going on in my life, despite the several external and internal limitations that I have.

It also serves to inspire other women to express their power and move the world forward through sport.

It wants to communicate the message that women are empowered, willing to fight for their dreams and passionate for them. Nike does this through showing these images of women shouting, communicating these feelings. It also serves to give a voice to female athletes, as women are mainly left out of many sports considered for men, showing that they do excell at them and are just or even more capable in them. This, again, strengthens the brand and shows that they care about women in sports, which is a topic of much discussion specially nowadays. It can be connected to the global issue of politics, power and justice, as it shows how women fight for justice in sports in the way that I have explained.

This advertising campaign pays tribute to all those people practicing sports and training in their homes, in their living rooms, driveways and bedrooms, due to the quarentine imposed during the Covid-19 pandemic. It shows a somewhat somber and gray image of these, but also gives the message to the audience to be hopeful for the world and that we will all ultimately triumph. In the same way many other companies did during this Pandemic, Nike tells their audience to stay home in order to protect everyone else, especially those who are most vulnerable.

The use of images of athletes training from their homes and the music used help create feelings of hope for the future and to transmit their message of inspiring people to keep working hard despite the dire circunstances. Also, the fact that they not only gave a message through videos and publicity, but also through actions such as directly helping those on the front line, working with organizations that focus on sport and physical activity such as the ‘Nike Community Impact Fund’ and enlisting the help of relevant influencers. This gave a well-rounded message that allowed them to resonate with customers and reinforce the idea that we are all fighting for the same cause.
Although it is not the main objective of the advertising campaign, this can be related to the global issue of science, technology and the natural world, as the quarentine forced everyone to interact only through virtuallity, which was the way in which Nike transmitted their message. To see this as an opportunity to help others and train from home despite the circumstances.
