I love both of these tech tools because they allow students to have a voice as well as choice. They also allow children to get creative and explain their thinking which is part of those higher level thinking skills. While using these tech tools, students are often engaged while also learning.

I think it is neat how I can push each of my problems out to the students and I can see how they are working on them right then. It gives me and students immediate feedback, while also creating a more creative math atmosphere. I set up 5 problems working on the distributive property, so students would have to show me their steps for each of the problems.

I could see myself using this as either a fun question of the day for attendance purposes or use it where students have to present math concepts as a presentation. We did that in person where they were assigned a math topic and they had to teach it to the class and work a problem they generated. I have used Edpuzzle mainly as a tool to pause the video for the student to give them time to work the assignment and enter their answer, before I work the math problem on the video. I love that it gives me feedback about how much they watch, how many times they watched it, and what their answers were to the questions.

I used the Padlet in the past to create a review board for a topic. Students were able to comment and help each other review topics before a test.

I will be using both these while virtually combined in my Thanksgiving Intercession work. Students must watch a short 1 minute video along with one of the five videos they are given in regards to the Pythagorean Theorem. These are on Edpuzzle. They then must write a two paragraph response on the class Padlet about what they learned and how it applies to their life.

I have also used it to present notes to them, and have them stop and work problems to gauge their understanding. I really like that I can see how much of the video they have watched and the answers they have submitted to the questions I required them to stop and complete while they were watching. 

I am using Edpuzzle along with Padlet for Virtual Learning the 2 days before Thanksgiving Break. Students must watch a short video of how Pythagorean Theorem applies in real life. Then, they can choose another video, from a list that I have given them, that aligns with their interests that is also on the applications of the Pythagorean Theorem. Each of these videos are on Edpuzzle so I can see which video they have chosen and how much they have watched. Then, the students will go to the Padlet link and create a post. Students will write two paragraphs on what they have learned and how it does or could apply to their life. The assignment they will access is a Google Doc where everything is linked in that one file.

I think Whiteboard.fi will be a great way for me to assess my students sight words while doing distance learning. I am planning to do some Zoom meetings with them to assess so I could just send them the Whiteboard.fi link. The ones that are writing their sight words could use Whiteboard.fi to do this so I can see what is happening in real time with them.

I use flipgrid a lot to help facilitate class discussions and personal opinion when doing a reading unit. This time I used it after the class completed a reading unit on Chris Allsburg's "The Stranger. " The student had to record who whey though the stranger was in the story and why. They also had to tell clues from the story they used to make this determination.
I had never used a quizziz but I thought it was neat! I used it at the end of our unit for reading comprehension purposes. I used the multiple choice option for the answers. I liked how personal you could make it and it gave you so many different options.

I have used Quizizz for the last two years and love it. I love the immediate feedback for the kids and love the report it gives me on questions they got correct or questions they missed. It’s great to use for a formative assessment to see what I still need to work on with my kids. I also like Pear deck and all of the different things you can put into the slides. With virtual learning, it can sometimes be difficult to find deliverable content that can really connect and be categorized as useful in physical education. However, the 2 tech tools used for this assignment (Edpuzzle and Padlet) allows the content to delivered with ease. With the intent of doing a Step Tracker assignment, I used Edpuzzle (https://edpuzzle.com/media/5fc461ae5b3ca44093330b11) to deliver the adequate instruction on how to download and install a fitness app on many varieties of phones. Padlet (https://padlet.com/stevenetheridge/i5t8rvgfpvy6regm) was used for the students to upload their results and have a venue for discussion. 

In the future, these two tools can certainly be valuable in not delivering instruction, but providing an opportunity for discussion. I have used Padlet a couple of times to get huddle/advisory feedback and they are both great ways to engage the students. I am currently not in a content area, so submitting a specific lesson plan would have been very vague. In Special Ed, I try to engage my students and learn about them and how I can help them succeed. What you will see with the two examples I shared is exactly that. I am trying to use technology to engage them and build a sense of community within the classroom. On an application like Padlet, you can make responses Anonymous if you choose, which will allow students to see that other students are having the same issues as them, whether they want to put in on the board or not. This will help them feel more secure with the issues they are having!

Prior to NTI, my class would complete, at least, one Edpuzzle a week for the topic we were discussing. I like to use Edpuzzle as an introductory activity on Monday or Tuesday. The videos are engaging and, because the questions are spread out throughout the video rather than at the end, they pay closer attention to the content. 

I also like to use Padlet to incorporate virtual discussion or as a check for understanding. Since student's can comment on each other's posts, this allows for collaboration and encourages them to provide positive feedback to one another. I hadn't incorporated FlipGrid during in person instruction, but I like the idea of using it as a collaboration piece during virtual instruction. The students have does this once or twice in ELA but we haven't used it in social studies. They have really enjoyed having Google Meets so I think that they would enjoy recording themselves and responding to each other. I also consistently use DuoLingo for my classroom (Spanish) because it works at the student's level when they're practicing the language and there are plenty of activities that some students find fun.  It's easy to track how much practice students get and a good deal of the vocabulary aligns with my book.

Though, now that I'm looking at padlet I think I might be able to use it as well in the future, especially with things being online.
