Exposition-Mrs.Mallard,Richard,Brent  Mallards,and Josephine. The setting was her house.

Rising Action-
Mrs.mallard is at home when her sister comes Josephine .Josephine  tells her that  Richard  her husbands friend was also at the house with her.He had received  the message that her husband is dead.She was heart broken about the news.She dreaded the fact that that her significant other wasn't  there any more.


Climax-
When she is alone at her house she had felt a feeling that she wasn't sure of.when she figured out that feeling it was free.She felt free without her husband.Though she knew when she would see him inn his death bed .That she would weep.

Falling action-
She felt that there would be man to tell her what to do.She would only live for herself.That the man that controlled her made her  feel unalive. So she felt free without the worry of a man Free is what she felt.


Resolution-

Is a indirect characterization.In the text it says "She was young,with a fair ,calm face whose lines bespoke repression,and even a certain strength."This shows that the author is telling us the personality of the character,and the what she looks like.A character trait she has is physical extenuation ,heart trouble."Knowing that Mrs.Mallard was afflicted with heart trouble,great care was taken to break her as gently as possible the news of her husbands death."She was a fragile women women who has to get this depressing message to her as gentle as possible.

Josephine-

Irony-
Verbal Irony is when she says "-of joy that kills."Because she wasn't really happy when she saw her husband."
Dramatic irony is"as powerless as her two white slender hands would have been."She wasn't literally powerless,but she felt like it being in a mans shadow.
