On paper, our schools lacks diversity, especially in the racial breakdown category. However, each student is a unique learner. We try to teach our students to value diversity through connections inside and outside of school. We participate in the Global Read Aloud, hold Thoughtful Thursday Assemblies and activities with the whole school, and promote learning and positive school vision on Twitter.

At Breakwater, we like to say that we are as diverse as the state of Maine. So, not very. We strive to be an inclusive, globally conscious, community-driven program. Teachers are able to meet students where they are, embrace their individuality and curiosities, and build an emergent curriculum that is authentic, representative, and inclusive of the world around us. While our statistics make us look homogenous, our community is more diverse than you would think at first. I chose to make a prezi as I had never used this tool before.

At my school, our numbers do not show diversity, but our school itself is swimming with diversity. We have students that come from all different kinds of families, students with disabilities, students of all different races, genders, ethnicities, and many students that are a part of the LGBTQ community. At the school, we provide not only support for all students, but we welcome all students.

It may not seem like Westford is very diverse looking at these statistics, however, if you step foot in one of our schools you will see first hand how different and unique each student really is. All of the students have different needs and the teachers in this district really strive to meet each and every one of these needs. Teachers also teach a lot about diversity so students are prepared to live in a diverse and changing world. Different units on culture take place in every single grade and students are often asked to complete projects about themselves and their families throughout the year. In the elementary schools there is Friday Assembly to teach kids how to be apart of a community.

Our district actively seeks to bring awareness, engage, celebrate, and support the diverse populations of our region and student body. With a mostly white population in New Hampshire, it is even more crucial we welcome those of different races. Last school year our Superintendent began a Diversity Initiative which impacted all students, staff, and also parents, noting that a parent's outlook and support of diversity can have a very meaningful impact on their student. Through the Timberlane Parent Advisory Forum, various presentations and resources were made available to educate parents on diversity awareness, and how we can help better prepare our students for the increasingly diverse world.

Cambridge school district is very diverse. There are a large number of students with high needs and economic disadvantages so the students needs are multilevel. They have language issues and poverty issues at the same times. The district provides a number of supports for students and is on the cutting edge of technology. I made the infographic using Infogram.
