My name is Tang Youyi, a second-year graduate student majoring in Resources and Environment. I am focusing on the resting cysts of dinoflagellate.

In my spare time, I’m passionate about photography. Fortunately, I spent my 4 years of my college life in Weihai, a city known for its stunning tourist attractions. The photo you see was taken just before my graduation last year. My journey began with my first camera in 2020, and it has accompanied me on many adventures. I have a niche passion for collecting square-shaped CCD cameras. I feel like "square" possess a distinct industrial aesthetic. For instance, the models I collect include Polaroid and Fuji (Polaroid pdc 2070, 3070 and Fujifilm f410), each with unique characteristics. Polaroid excels at capturing vibrant yellows and greens, while Fuji offers a negative mode that gives photos a delicate, translucent feel. Although CCD cameras have lower performance compared to modern digital ones, rely on obsolete memory cards, and have slow photo read speeds, their specialized sensors produce images with a nostalgic, millennial-era feel.

The photo above is in the CCD camera I purchased from Japan through international shopping. It still holds the previous owner’s photographs of the Japanese countryside.

Through images taken by old cameras, it’s as if we go back in time - back to that town, back to the dreamy fantasy, back to feel the hot winds of the past against our skin.

Ice climbing is a niche sport, yet an indispensable aspect of mountaineering. Its key technical equipment—the crampon—was originally invented by shepherds in the Alps. In the 19th century, It was adopted by mountaineers, ushering mountaineering into its golden age and enabling brave adventurers to summit countless steep peaks. With advancements in materials and craftsmanship, today’s ice climbing sport boasts a mature system of equipment and techniques, including specialized gear such as ice axes, crampons, harnesses, and ropes which make it much safer and easier.

Four years ago, as a participant in the BUAA Climbers Club’s Winter Simulated Snow Mountain Training Camp, I not only learned fundamental ice climbing techniques but also developed a profound love for this sport. Since then, I return to climb ice walls every winter. This photo was taken at the ice falls at Yunmeng Gorge in Haurou, Beijing, where the red climber in front of stark ice walls, towering mountains, and the ruins of ancient beacon towers makes it the most unforgettable scenery in my memory.

As a student，I believe that laying a strong foundation is the first and the most important step for learning.So let us start hard,step forward,crush the exam and get A! The male lead of the movie, Si , is a typical innocent and lovely good student. He is the hope of his parents and the pride of his siblings. Although he is just in the second year of junior high school, under family education, he has become a tender idealist. He can't stand bad things. He demands himself by a moral standard higher than that of his peers. At that time, he lived a completely different life from many teenagers who were mixed in the small gang organization "Little Park". However, as the female lead, Xiaoming, entered his life, he gradually couldn't understand various events in life. In my opinion, this movie divides people into two types. Si is a person who acts according to principles and emotions. In his eyes, love is love and right is right. But unfortunately, the Xiaoming he falls in love with is not this kind of person. In fact, Xiaoming is not naturally fickle. It's just that her family is poor and she lacks a sense of security. There are many other characters in the film. In the original words of the film, the former type of people are "those who are not afraid of death", and the latter type are "those who are shameless". The movie pays tribute to "War and Peace". Lev Tolstoy wrote such an idealistic masterpiece. He shows a person with ideals and without closing his sensitive senses, deeply disappointed in this world that is not full of truth, goodness and beauty everywhere. But at the same time, he firmly adheres to the belief in truth, goodness and beauty. The fire of this belief is so strong that even any violent flood cannot extinguish it. "A Brighter Summer Day" clearly expresses sympathy for such humans who pursue principles and emotions. But the ending gives us a tragedy. Killing is naturally wrong and should be judged and condemned by law. But the director's focus is to discuss the reasons for this tragedy. Si goes all out with hope, opens his senses to feel. Naturally, the result of going all out with hope is difficult to get rewards. And the result of opening the senses to feel is naturally seeing the disappointing world. His principles may be worthless in contempt, and his emotions may be burned to ashes in blows. Idealists like him are lonely and often not understood and suffer a lot of harm. Hello everyone, I am Tang Qijie, and my major is precision medicine and public health.

I grew up in Chengdu, Sichuan province. I graduated from Sichuan University, majoring in chemical engineering. During my undergraduate times, in the field of study, I used to study more kinds of knowledge than other students, I was preparing for different types of exams, so I always learned new knowledge during different periods. I have learned the professional content about chemical engineering、management、circuitous philosophy and I will learn things about optics and biology, which means I learned math、physics、chemisity、biology again during the 8 years of higher education. The various educational backgrounds used to puzzled me a lot, because I don't diligence in one specific field and fall behind others who dig deep in a field. Just as the picture shows, I even have one official working experience in Huawei company, which will not happen in other students' lives.

But although my experiences may be a little chaotic, it's very unique. Who knows if the various experiences would be worked in some field in the future? This belongs to me alone, which defines me, and makes me unique and irreplaceable. I should see it as my jewelry. Now I am studying at Tsinghua, I will bring my past and move forward.

I was born in Tongren, a small city in the northeast of Guizhou province, where I finished my compulsory education. My hometown is surrounded by continuous mountains which is fully covered by evergreen trees and dense bushes.

I have few chances to go to other places before I graduated from my high school when I go to college in Beijing lately.

Beijing has many differences compare to my hometown, in other words, the most territory of Beijing is champaign which lives numerous deciduous trees and sparse bushes. One of my discoveries in Beijing is its weather which has a completed four seasons. In my four years undergraduate time, I experienced the resurrection of spring, the bleakness of fall and the snow of winter which made a controversy to my hometown where has only sultry summer and dam winter.

As for the photo, it was taking in Dalian, Liaoning province five months ago. Dalian isn't much from Beijing but it has different weather and environment compared to both Beijing and my hometown. Dalian is coastal city but located in the northeast of China which brings it moderate humidity and plants of both evergreen and deciduous.

As for now, I come to Shenzhen, another different city which distinguishes from all the other cities I had ever been. I wish to create unforgettable memories with you guys.

My hometown is Zhangzhou，which is in Fujian province.There are a lot of famous citys in fujian,such as Xiameng,which is famous for its ocean scenery,Quanzhou，which is famous for traditions of adventure and trade.

Zhangzhou is just a small city,but it has slow pace of life and it is famous for its beautiful rural scenery and delicious local snacks.

The image shows a special noodle in Zhangzhou，which is called “lumian” in

Chinese。The noodle is famous for its special soup.The eggs, seafood, meat and seasonings are simmered together,and simmered until thick and sticky,which may cost a lot of time. After that the noodles is prepared in another pot. Finally, mix the noodles with the special soup and prepare other side dishes for serving.

        I know you must notice the cute cat on my posting. It's our family pet. Its name is Yu Yuan , which in Chinese means taro ball. It has long and gray fur and just looks like a glutinous rice ball. I caught the photo this July coincidentally. It just lay on the floor and exposed its belly like a child, showing its relaxation and trust. I hold the view that keeping a pet is an effective way to make our daily life colorful and help to reduce pressure. It is a great thing that you love your pets and you can get their love back. This emotional experience crosses species. It's magical. Often, pets bring more happiness to us than we give them. There are many things in your world but you are their whole world. However, we can see some bad news about abusing cats or dogs from time to time these years. I hope that all of us can respect lives, although they aren't human they have rights to live with dignity. And you can dislike them but do not hurt them please. I wish that we can create a world that human and animals can live in harmony one day.

In July last year, I was fortunate enough to follow my undergraduate advisor to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) to learn about its PhD program, and spent less than a week studying and living in HKUST.

As an inland kid, I have never been to such a southern city as Hong Kong. To be honest, the cityscape of Hong Kong didn't surprise me as much as I expected. Instead, when crossing the lofty mountains to come to HKUST, I was amazed by its beautiful scenery. Entering the school and arriving at the terrace of the Jockey Club Atrium, the beautiful bay came into view. I couldn't help but Wow～

The day I took this photo, I had just finished my morning activities and lunch in the cafeteria. I thought I'd try a different route back to my dorm today, so I went down the steps and found this beautiful place. HKUST is built on hills and this is a small slope facing the sun. There is a wide view here, with lush trees and student apartments in the near distance, then the blue bay, and as far as the eye can see, you can even see the freighters in the distance. I sat on the steps, with a big tree above my head to shade me from the sun, and a breeze blowing from time to time, so I couldn't feel the slightest bit of severe heat. I let myself go and reveled in the stillness and comfort of that time.

That day has become a great memory. But I hope to have more opportunities to pursue that kind of comfort in the future!

I love dancing and photography, using camera to record any interesting things in my life is a fantastic way for me to relax. I’d like to introduce two cities that have had a deep impact on me. First is my hometown, Nanping in Fujian province. It’s a beautiful and peaceful small city with picturesque mountains and rivers, known for its slow pace of life and its “eight parts mountain, one part water, and one part farmland” landscape. Nanping is one of the most ecologically preserved regions in the world at its latitude. It’s home to the UNESCO World Heritage site Wuyi Mountain, the scenic Nine Bend River, and the famous Da Hong Pao tea. The city’s rich culture and delicious local foods, such as Guangbing and smoked goose, also make it a special place. I spent my childhood and school years there.

Then, I moved to Xiamen for my undergraduate studies. Known as the “Egret Island” due to the many egrets that inhabit the area, Xiamen is often called a “Garden on the Sea.” It blends natural beauty with modern urban life. Famous landmarks like Nanputuo Temple and Gulangyu Island, along with Xiamen University’s scenic campus, make this city unforgettable. Xiamen is also a food lover’s paradise, with dishes like shacha noodles and “tusundong.” The laid-back lifestyle and comfortable pace of life made my time in Xiamen incredibly fulfilling.

Now, I’m starting a new chapter in Shenzhen, and I’m excited to be here with all of you. I am looking forward to the next three years and hope to learn and grow together!

I am from Sichuan Province. It is well-know that pandas are a big feature of Sichuan, most tourists to Sichuan will go to visit pandas. The picture shows a panda lying on the roof of the IFS building on Chunxi Road, students who have been to Chengdu should have seen this panda.

In fact, there are not only pandas in Sichuan, but also a variety of sceneries and customs. You can go to Sanxindui Museum to feel the historical heritage, you can go to Jianchuan Museum to feel the spirit of the resistance war, you can follow the 318 National Road that most people know but have not taken, to get the west of Sichuan to feel the customs and practices of ethnic minorities.

It is worth mentioning that I have had an interesting undergraduate experience. I spent my freshman and senior years in Hainan University, but my sophomore and junior years in Tianjin University as an exchange student. This exchange student experience made me experience the different school spirit of the two schools. Hainan University stresses openness and inclusiveness, while Tianjin University stresses rigorous academic research. At the same time let me experience the huge difference between the north and south environmental climate, exercise my ability to adapt.

My MBTI is ISTJ. I am an introverted, cautious, like to seek truth from facts boy, in a large number of occasions I will be nervous. I like to take photos and record the beautiful scenes I encounter. As shown in the picture, I especially like the sunset glow in Hainan. The sky is like a color palette. I also like to play mahjong, which is funny: I often win when playing with my roommates, but I always lose when playing with my family.

My current major is nuclear security of resources and environment, and my specific research direction is still related to electronic information. I am very glad to start a new journey in Tsinghua University. I hope we can get along well with each other.

I would like to share a photo of Venice. I used to exchange for one term in Venice International University. Venice is famous for its tourism while most tourists will not stay in the city for long time. Therefore, living in the island of Venice is a quite unique experience. There was not car in the island and instead, people travelled by boat. There were paths and bridges which were both narrow and curved. And it was quite crowded at noon while extremely empty and silent at night. In addition, there are more intercultural experiences that are difficult to express in language. If there is a chance, I will share them next time.

In my free time, I keep a hobby of watching Japanese animations. Japanese animations seemed to be more and more popular between the Chinese youth these days while I had begun this hobby for over 10 years. I always get inspired or attracted by the stories and characters of the animations. I believe a good animation bring the audience with not only more entertainment but also more spiritual strength. However, it also needs a kind of deep-reading, which means the requirement of thinking and focusing.

I have a strong interest in English, although my speaking and listening skills still need improvement. I really hope that through this master's English course, I can comprehensively improve my English skills, especially in listening and speaking, so that I can use English more confidently in my future studies and work.

Every time i see this photo,it ignites a passion within me to set out again.there is something magical about pushing yourself to the limits while surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. I've been climbing for three years. I have gone to the Southern Taihang Mountains, Tai Mountains, Huang Mountains, and many more. Each adventure has been a journey of self-discovery and being alone moments. Climbing has taught me so much about resilience and the importance of never giving up. When I'm not on a mountain, i like to participate the activities outdoors,and make preparation for next trip.

This photo above was taken by me on my way from Hefei to Xinjiang this summer vacation. This trip to Xinjiang is something I have been looking forward to for a long time. In the end, I also gained a beautiful memory and made a group of good friends. Although there are so many fantastic photos which can show the beauty of Xinjiang better, the reason I choose this one is that it represent the the beginning of a dreamlike journey. As the saying goes, people always feel happiest when they are close to happiness. Every time I see this photo, I can recall the excitement of embarking on an unknown yet beautiful journey back then. I remember the snow capped mountains and forests of Kanas reflected in the emerald green lakes. I remember the magnificent scenery of the sea and sky merging seamlessly at Lake Selim. I remember the delicious Xinjiang large plate chicken we ate in the small wooden house in Hemu. I remember the distant mountains and streams we faced under the sunset, eating our own grilled lamb skewers. Many unforgettable beautiful moments are deeply engraved in my heart. I have never felt the passion of life so much as I do living in the city.

This trip has also greatly changed my attitude towards life, from being a stay at home otaku in the past to yearning for nature and experiencing a real and rich life. As for my hobby, I like working out (exercise in gyms), playing electronic games and playing with Gundam models. I usually go to the school gym 4 to 5 times a week about 2 hours at a time, doing strength training and cardio training. With regard to electronic games, recently, I have got all the achievments of 2 just-released games, Black Myth: WuKong and Astro Bot, on playstation platform. The picture above is a Gundam model I completed last year. I always get a lot of fun during making these models.

I like learning English very much. English is very important for us. I hope that through our teacher's course, I can further improve my proficiency in using English.

I completed my undergraduate studies in Beijing. While I had the privilege of studying with excellent peers and professors, I found it difficult to adapt to the dry climate, the floating willow catkins, and the unavoidable sesame paste in the food.

However, when I arrived in Shenzhen, I felt a sense of relaxation and freedom. From my dorm, I can see Tanglang Mountain and the Dasha River flowing through the university town. The scenery here reminds me of a verse: "水是眼波横，山是眉峰聚." This is how I feel about being at SIGS. Recently, I visited Hong Kong, and as soon as I stepped out of the K11 mall, I was amazed by the breathtaking view of Victoria Harbour at night. As someone who grew up inland, the sight of the sea left a deep impression on me. This made me even more eager to explore Shenzhen Bay and enjoy more of the coastal scenery around Shenzhen.

By the way, you might have noticed the photo I posted. I took it near the Information Building. Yes, I’m a cat lover! I often dream of the day when I can hold my cat at home, doing things I enjoy and leisurely spending the day.

The picture above is a record of my riding experience in 2021. I spent four years to study in Beijing. And I have been enthusiastic about riding since freshman year of high school so I bought a mountain bike in my first year of college. During weekends and holidays, I rode my bike to explore this old city. One day an idea occurred me, why not take a 100-kilometer journey to enrich my riding experience? This idea started to put into practice on May 21st, 2021. I began this amazing journey from my school in Changpin District, rode around the four circles and then went back to school. The first half journey was easier and I just enjoyed the scenery. In the last half journey, I started to felt a little exhausted so I had to eat a few Snickers. What’s more, the sun was so hot at that time. Drinking some electrolyte drinks for each five kilometers became very necessary. In the last 10-kilometer journey, my feet were as heavy as lead and I just rode like a robot without any emotion. When I finally reached my college and got off the bike, I almost fell. In the later three days, my legs bore a lot.

It's really a pity that the journey is 0.5 kilometers away from 100 kilometers. But I still see it a milestone of my riding experience, which inspires me a lot. Though I buy a electric bike recently, the enthusiasm for riding never fades. I wish to fulfill that goal in the last three years.

In my free time, I enjoy swimming, badminton, working out, and playing mahjong—especially Sichuan-style mahjong, though I’d still advise not to get too hooked, haha. I usually go swimming and work out, and our school has a great swimming facility that's very close, so you should definitely try it out. I’d love to play badminton too, but it’s hard to find a partner (and honestly, it’s tough to book the courts here). Besides that, I'm passionate about exploring new restaurants and trying out new places to eat. I know some good spots around Guangzhou and Shenzhen, so if you're interested, feel free to ask me for recommendations.

In my self-introduction, I would like to introduce my hobby of traveling and learning about the history and culture of different places, and I hope to make friends with people who share the same interest, so that we can travel together in the future.

Pictures taken with Siena Cathedral. Siena Cathedral is one of the largest churches in Italy, located in the ancient city of Siena. Built primarily in Romanesque and Gothic styles, this medieval church is known for its unique and enigmatic floor, which consists of brightly colored and cleverly matched multi-colored natural marble pieced together to form a variety of patterns .

The church was decorated over a period of six centuries, from the 14th century to the 19th century, and contains more than 60 scenes created by more than 40 artists.

The floor painting pictured was taken in a side nave of the cathedral and is one of ten prophetesses, each of whom had a book next to them, heralding the coming of God. Lingering in the church, I was struck by the heartfelt work of artists hundreds of years ago!

In my free time, I love exploring interesting activities and meeting new people. The picture above shows some of the board games I’ve played before. I enjoy playing these games with friends whenever I have some free time. From classic Mahjong and poker to role-playing and card games, I find them all really fun. These games are not only a great way for me to relax but also to exercise my mind and enjoy socializing. My hometown is Shaanxi but I grew up in Guangzhou and therefore I like to eat both wheaten food and Cantonese cuisine. In my spare time, I am keen on badminton and I've played since junior high school so I also excel at it. In addition, I'm used to running everyday to maintain my strength. This year I read a book called One Hundred Years of Solitude, which touched me a lot. Through the historical changes of a family over the past century, the author reflects the historical and social picture of Latin America at that time, which makes me remember it vividly, and if there are classmates who have read it, you can communicate with me together.

My goal is to be a reliable and interesting person, and I hope that I can make some gains and achievements together with you in my profession and projects, and be a reliable person in everyone's eyes. If we have the opportunity to communicate more deeply and become friends in life, I hope to be an interesting person with you, and to broaden the width of our lives.

I am more like to try a lot of things, have a lot of hobbies, like hosting, dancing, traveling, I think the simplest travel is available everywhere, you can blow the wind, take a walk, look up at the sky and trees. I've also had many careers: short video choreographer, HR, sales in vintage stores and bartending.

I graduated with a degree in Electronic Information Engineering, a field I’m deeply passionate about. I enjoy exploring how technology shapes our world and finding innovative solutions to challenges. Whether it’s working on practical projects or diving into new advancements, I’m always eager to learn and grow in this area.

Recently, I had the incredible chance to attend Eason Chan’s concert in Hefei. As a huge fan of his music, it was a dream come true to experience his powerful performances live. It was not just a concert but a moment of connection and inspiration that I’ll never forget.

Outside of my professional and academic interests, I enjoy discovering new music, exploring local cuisines, and spending time outdoors to recharge and find fresh perspectives.
