The governments main source of revenue is through taxes, but it also gets money through trade deals with other countries. Recently, we have been enforcing tariffs on products from other countries, and by doing this we bring in more money from trades while also making it harder for the target country to trade. Tariffs are mostly used on other countries in retaliation for something they did, or to send a warning against trade deals that hurt us. However, tariffs are very risky and can hurt the global economy, which is why many people are against them.

While the president is in charge of creating a budget, Congress has to approve or amend it. The money is allocated to the many programs that make up the different branches of government, and some is sent to aid foreign countries or pay off some of our debts. Arguments tend to arise when it comes to government spending because not everyone agrees on where it should be allocated.

Economic stability is difficult to maintain, and the government usually does this through their tax policy. Cutting taxes can stimulate economic growth by increasing spending, however it is important to keep spending under control, in order to prevent rapid inflation. To prevent the devaluation of money, the government can increase taxes while spending more. Though many people praise tax cuts, it’s important to keep them in check, as booms almost always lead to busts

Regulations are usually implemented to ensure safety in certain aspects of business. This safety is payed for in a reduced revenue, as it can become expensive to get through all of the regulations. This can hurt some businesses, however the regulations make sure that products and the way a company carries out its business stays consistently hazard free, allowing for better conditions for workers, which means more jobs and more economic growth.
