A large grassy area scattered with trees, and are similar to grasslands.
The biggest savanna is located in Africa. Lions, and cheetahs live there too! Savannas also have a rainy season and a dry season! Tropical forests have exceptionally high animal and plant species. They also play a crucial role in regulating the global climate, for example by storing lots of carbon. And people make a living off forests. In savanna areas, more rain may increase tree growth and cover.

Sometimes in the desert, it's hot. Sometimes in the desert, it's cold.
In the desert, it's very dry and most animals need to go underground. Camels, and some other animals live in the desert too! There is an animal called a Xerocole and it's a fascinating creature! Deserts can evaporate water faster than it is received. There are four types of deserts: Subtropical, Semiarid, Costal, and Polar. You would see dead trees if you went to the desert. Deserts receive very little rainfall. That is what i learned.

In the Artic, narwals and other animals live there, mostly unexplored. In august 2007, the North Pole was discovered. It has lured explorers to keep exploring.
Living in the Artic is hard, because you barely have any food, and the enviorment around you is mostly snow, and ice. Animals in the Artic have white fur or skin to camoflauge from other animals. Penguins huddle together to keep warm. That is what I learned about Polar Regions.

At the top of mountains, the trees get colder and there is less oxygen. There are mountain regions all around the world! The mid-ocean ridge is the longest mountain range on Earth!

The ocean is a underwater habitat.
Some sea creatures are very different than land animals. Our oceans cover more than 70 per cent of the Earth's surface. Less than five per cent of the planet's oceans have been explored. Coral isn't a plant. It's an animal! The majority of life on Earth is aquatic. Many animals live there like: dolphins, whales, fish, seals, crabs, jellyfish, urchins, seabirds, turtles, and starfish. That is what I learned.
