I choose Nick Caraway as my character metaphor. The man standing alone is supposed to signify how Nick is the only morally correct man in the whole West and East egg. The inky question mark and the head with gears are the questions and analyzing habits that Nick has. His insight to many of the situations going on are true and on point. The broken mask is Nicks lost identity towards the end of the book. And the quote is to show Nicks hatred of dis-honesty. And the fact that Nick is very blunt when it comes to his opinions and how he never minces words.
