I start with a first draft then I go back and rework sentences or phrases I don't like

Research and planning the story instead of writing, I chose it because it is one of the most important steps to not waste time, it's better to think about what you're going to write instead of writing and you don't know what to do.

I like this strategy a lot because normally when I am writing I tend to give up quickly because I just think it is not good enough. I always try to keep an open mind because I know that when I am done writing I can always go back and re write something to make it better.
