Explanation: Although it isn’t Victor speaking directly, his story and lessons taught Robert to not risk the lives of his men for what he wants to do. Earlier in the novel, the blinded sailor wanted nothing more than to arrive at the North Pole no matter how many lives were going to perish. However, the story of Victor inspired him to be more cautious about human life.

“When the monster finished his story, I didn’t know what to say. At first, I told Jim that I would not make a wife for him. I was not going to make another monster that would hurt people.” […] “I knew now that I had to make another monster. Explanation: When Victor is listening to what the monster is saying, he is nervous and afraid because he thinks that the monster will hurt him. The monster asks Victor to create a wife for him, and Victor agrees with the monster, but he is very insecure and worried about it, because there is a possibility that this new monster will be as the old one, so they would hurt people together.

When Victor woke up and had discovered that the creature was alive and that his experiment actually worked, you would expect him to be happy or excited that all of his work paid off but no he was terrified and panicked and ran away far from the creature. I believe that Victor probably felt let down that he created a monster and how it was not what he expected.

Chapter 5

Victor knows that the creature was the one to kill William and to see Justine get blamed and killed for being accused of William's murder causes him to be sorrowful and makes him feel guilty because he can’t tell anyone the truth.
