On EE for the same amount of internet (2Gb) it is £24/month where it is £15/month on Tesco. The idea of 'Xtras' is great and can create a big saving overall. It also allows you to cap your contract which is helpful to take care of costs. Even if you go over you gain club card points so extra spending isn't for nothing. I've compared prices for both of these phones on O2, EE and Tesco Mobile - Tesco consistently provides the cheapest tariff option but also provides a good range of options with regards to inclusive minutes/texts/data. E.g. LG K8: Tesco Mobile 2000 mins/5000 texts/1GB data = £14 per month or for 1000 mins/5000 texts/ 1GB = £12.50 per month O2 unlimited mins/unlimited texts/1 GB data = £17 per month (only option with 1GB data). £51.00/ month on 24 month contract- 30GB data/ unlimited mins & texts and £99 upfront. 

For someone who needs data the Three mobile would appeal more! But there are plenty of lower cost options on tesco if you only wanted 3Gb data as there is no upfront cost and only £44.75/month (Three has pretty much same deal but £149 upfront cost!! for 4Gb data!!) However I do like the Three Feel at Home 'extra' and unlimited mins/text options.

Wish more providers did this. Only have to view ads for 21 days/ month and you get £3 off you monthly bill/ SIM only plan!

I also really like the idea of 'capping' your contract and having monthly 'perk's which other providers don't seem to offer. Would definitely look at Tesco mobile in more detail as I am coming up to changing my phone this month!

Would possibly consider a Microsoft Lumia 950 if I didn't go for Samsung/ IPhone this time, as it has a fab camera and 'GorillaGlass' screen...
