What Abiotic Factors effect the topshell?

Temperature: As Topshells can't tolerate high temperatures they are found in the mid tide area, where temperature levels are cooler. If the temperature increase, the rate of water evaporating also increases.

Wave exposure: Since Topshells live at the mid tide area, they are equally exposed (around 6 hours) to air and water and are adapted to withstand this fluctuation.

Salinity: As topshells have a shell made from calcium carbonate, if the water salinity decreases (becomes more acidic) their protective shells can get dissolved which ulitmately can threaten their chance of survival.
