I picked Spookley the Square Pumpkin by Joe Troiano because it takes place on a farm and that is one of Bailey's interests. This book is about how being different can save the day and that demonstrates how looking different is not a bad thing! The book is in the 1st-3rd age range making it a perfect choice for Bailey.

I picked Love From Bluey by Suzy Brumm because it's a book about Bluey and her family which is another one of her interests. One of the quotes from the book is "Love can be found in the strangest of places." I really liked that quote because it demonstrates how family love can be the most important, especially for kids at a young age.

I picked the book Build a House by Rhiannon Giddens because not only is this book about music, but it also tells the story behind the song that Rhiannon Giddens wrote about enslavement and freedom. I think that this book would be a great window for Bailey. It is a book rated for all ages in elementary so it might be a longer read, but worth the time spent.

I picked Corn by Gaik Gibbons because it is yet another book on one of Bailey's special interests, country life! She thoroughly enjoys learning about the goings on a farm and this book talks about the history of corn and all the surprising uses of corn! I always enjoyed fun informational books like this when I was her age, and I think that she would like them the same way.

I chose Frozen: Polar Nights by Jen Calonita because while it is still about the movie Frozen and its' characters, it is a longer book that she would be able to work through at school with her teacher and/or at home with her parents and older sister. It is rated for older readers, but I think that might make it all the more interesting to her.

I picked Sisters Are Sisters Forever by Brooke Jorden because sister love is so important and to Bailey, her older sister is her role model that she looks up to for everything. As much as they fight, they will always have each other and that is more than a lot of other young kids have.
