1 - Cinema Rex Fire ("The Bicycle" - p.10)

In the graphic novel: the novel does not show a specific group or person starting the fire, it focuses on the response from the police (who watched as those inside burned and attacked those who attempted to help) and the fire department (that took 40 minutes to arrive). This could be seen as an inside job by the government with a seemingly coordinated (lack of) response. Marji seems more motivated than ever to protest which could be synonymous with this event being the trigger for the revolution.

Outside of the graphic novel:
- Cinema Rex in Abadan, Iran was set ablaze on August 19, 1978, when four men barricaded the doors and doused the theater in petrol.
- Speculation over the actual numbers of casualties, various sources indicate total casualties was somewhere between 377 and 470 people.
- Unclear which group propagated the attack, thought to be a key trigger in Iranian Revolution
