One day emotion and passion overcame him and he actually committed the murder of Hae. This was an in the moment act and was not premeditated. He killed her in her car just as Jay said in the Best Buy parking lot. He started lying about it when the police started looking. This lie has been engraved in his memory. However by killing Hae he can use his friendship with Adnan against him and accuse him of killing her while making it believable seeing Adnan recently broke up with Hae.
