Idealism helps people to fight for what’s right. One example of this was Martin Luther King, Jr.  Martin Luther King is a very well-known man. He is well known because back in 1955, he led the civil rights movement. Martin Luther King involved himself the movement because he had an ideal of a world without segregation. Without him, as well as many others, we would more than likely still live in a world in which blacks and whites are not considered equal and as a result, not have equal rights.

Education is a big factor when it comes to teen pregnancy, but a lot of teen mothers don’t take it as seriously as they should. Parenthood is the leading reason that teen girls drop out of school. More than 50% of teen mothers never graduate from high school and fewer than 2% earn a college degree. The excuse teenaged mothers like to use is the fact that it gets really difficult trying to juggle homework and a baby. This is understandable knowing that the baby has to be the main priority. However, a teenaged girl should know the consequences of having a child before finishing school Statistics also show that children born to teen mothers are more likely to perform worse on many measures of school readiness, such as communication, cognition and social skills. Research shows that children of teen mothers not only start school at a disadvantage, children born to teens have lower educational performance, score lower on standardized tests, are 50% more likely to repeat a grade, and are more likely to drop out of school. Additionally, only around two-thirds of children born to teen mothers earn a high school diploma, compared to 81% of children born to adults.
