Phillips, former employee of Motorola. In the begining WD was manufacturer of calculator chips, but as the company grew they started to make hard disk controlers which were very popular and that helped them to won a contract as providers for IBM. WD then bought a lot of hardware companies such as Paradise, Faraday electronics and  ADSI. In the 90s company started to stagnate (which resulted in their biggest investor to leave and selling some of its divisions), but thanks to IBM which sold few of theirs technologies the company rised above others again. Now WD is one of the largest manufacturer of hard disk drives in computer data storage industry.

In these days Foxconn cooperates with almost every bigger company making electronic parts and computer stuff. From Apple, Sony, Samsung to Microsoft and etc., it spreds its parts around the world. Sometimes they make whole products, like iPhone, iPad, Playstation and so on. With   milions of employers on the whole world, they are really the one in the business. Foxconn has a big factory even in the Czech Republic. They are that big even when some workers commited mass-suicide, company just told others to stop doing that and they did....
