In this lab session we examine the sensory systems, including taste, smell, cutaneous sensation, proprioception and hearing. For taste we need to taste and smell natural flavours, NaCl and a chemical called 6-n-propylthiouracil (PROP). The we need to find the three coins of difference sizes (RM 1 sen, 5 sen and 10 sen) . After that we close our eyes and have our partner place one of the coins on the back of your forearm. For smell we sniff a series of vials of a chemical, alpha-androstenone, and indicate the intensity of smell that you perceive. Lastly we Place one hand in the warm bath, and one in the cold bath. Each hand will adapt individually to the water temperature, so the baths will not feel either cold or warm. Then place both hands in the skin temperature bath.

The objective of this laboratory is to measure total lung capacity by measuring the Tidal Volume, expiratory Reserve Volume, Vital Capacity, Inspiratory Reserve Volume and Inspiratory capacity.” Tidal volume is the amount of air breathed in or out during respiratory cycle. It can increase or decrease from normal depending on ventilation requirement. Tidal volume is probably used more frequently than other term. Inspiratory reserve volume is the amount of air that can still be inspired after inhaling the tidal volume and expiratory reserve volume is the amount of air that can still expired after exhaling the tidal volume. Residual volume is the amount of air remaining in the lungs after the most forceful expiration” (Reece, 2009) .The measurement is measure using the spirometer and determine by spirometry the measurement of the volume of air that a person can move into and out of the lungsThe Heymer Test of Respiratory Reserve is also conducted. In this experiment we can that different person has different lung capacity.
