Die Geschichte des Lyzeums ist mit Theodor Zöckler verbunden. Er war ein deutscher Pastor, Architekt und Wohltäter, der sich vor über 100 Jahren für die Stadt eingesetzt hat. Er gründete Waisenhäuser, Schulen, half armen Menschen.

Heute führt das Lyzeum Nr. 11 diese Tradition weiter – als moderner Bildungsort, an dem eine bewusste junge Generation der Ukrainer im Geist europäischer Werte heranwächst.

Dank Menschen wie Zöckler entstanden zwischen der Ukraine und Deutschland starke und unterstützende Verbindungen.
