An estuary is an area where a freshwater river or stream meets the ocean. In estuaries, the salty ocean mixes with a freshwater river, resulting in brackish water. Brackish water is somewhat salty, but not as salty as the ocean. An estuary may also be called a bay, lagoon, sound, or slough.

Saira Sahi 6-D

Sometimes a river cut a very big mouth / wide mouth , its called an estuary. This is where the fresh water of the river mixes with the salt water of the sea.
If a valley is not straight its because of spurs. Spurs change the direction of the water if it comes to hard rock. This is called a spur. if there are many spurs its called “Interlocking spurs”.
Rivers are huge bodies of water which leads us to many uses such as drinking , bathing and more. A river is a natural flowing watercourse, usually freshwater , flowing towards an ocean , sea , lake or another river.

Spurs: Hard rocks which are the reason why the v-shaped valley changes its shape, by hitting them and when there are alot of spurs , they are called interlocking spurs. An delta and estuary are the mouth of the river.Meanders are the bend in the riverand they have two sets of loops.Oxbow lakes are the U-shaped lake which are cut off from the river. Rapids are the area where the river moves faster. Canyons are formed due to erosion of the sediments.
