         <description><![CDATA[<p><span>Causes of WWI</span></p><ul><li><p>Militarism</p></li><ul><li><p>Aggression of armed forces.</p></li><li><p>People wanted to see who had the better army.</p></li><li><p>They wanted to be bigger and better.</p></li><ul><li><p>Sparked arguments on who’s the best.</p></li></ul><li><p>War broke out when armies got stronger.</p></li></ul><li><p>Allies</p></li><ul><li><p>Allied powers were France, Russia, Britain (AKA Triple Entente) &amp; Italy &nbsp;joined them in 1915.</p></li><li><p>Germany and Austria-Hungary were known as the central powers.</p></li><li><p>Russia promised Serbia they would help when war came around.</p></li></ul><li><p>Imperialism</p></li><ul><li><p>Caused tensions in Europe.</p></li><li><p>Wanted to gain territories and lost trust.</p></li><li><p>Fierce competition between the european powers.</p></li><li><p>Countries wanted to protect themselves </p></li></ul></ul><br><ul><li><p>Nationalism</p></li><ul><li><p>Who: Armies, A. Ferdinano</p></li><li><p>What: Due to this, some countries became unstable (Austria-Hungary) with the Slavs, because the Slavs wanted to break away from Austria-Hungary, and they saw it as a threat.</p></li><li><p>When: July 28, 1919</p></li><li><p>Where: Europe</p></li><li>Why: Slovaks wanted to break away from A-H, but this turned out to be a threat</li></ul></ul>]]></description>
