OVERALL EXPERIENCE
Naiise is strategically well played-out in a way that consumers are able to browse through the items according to collections and types. For example, the local souvenirs -also the shop’s specialty- is located at the far left of the shop. Then follows the food section, fashion & apparel, everyday living items e.g. Scented candles, soaps, cutlery and pet items, and furnitures. New arrivals have a whole section to themselves at the far right of the shop. While I was walking around the shop, I find that all items are able to fair chance of displaying themselves and the consumers can easily shift through them and see the entire shop.

The music played was lively and the genre is appropriate (indietronoic). The lifters the atmosphere of the shop and I personally feel that it caters well to NAIISE’s target audience: young adults. The interior design and lighting used is suitable and the shop put out some furnitures e.g. tables, chairs and soft beans, for customers to use, which gives the shop a friendly and comfortable setting, compared to the usual shops with signs like “Do not sit here” or “Do not touch”. The customer can get to know the product they’re interested in further before buying them as we can touch and interact with them.

PLEASURE / PAIN / JOY

I enjoyed the ‘chill’ atmosphere of the shop, and I appreciate the fact that the retail associates of the shop don’t loiter around me, which often makes me uncomfortable. I certainly like the genre of the music which makes me enjoy the shopping experience at NAIISE even more. Some pain or discomfort that I felt was the heavy price tag pasted behind these items which is a constant reminder that I couldn’t afford any of these gorgeous items haha. It was kind of like a positive window-shopping experience overall.

PLACE / ENVIRONMENT / SOCIAL CONTEXT

After this trip to NAIISE, I have a greater understanding of why originality and authenticity of design items are so important. I have seen a diverse amount of items in this shop which couldn’t be seen anywhere else e.g mainstream shops. I can see the effort the artist/ designer put into those items, as well as the passion that they possess. NAIISE is like a collection of all sorts quirky and creative. The public can now find these items more easily without personally searching for the contact details of the artist/ designers in order to obtain them. In turn, the artists/ designers can now display and promote their items to a larger audience.

NAIISE is definitely a place that supports creativity, entrepreneurship and exploration of local artists/ designers and is a voice for all of them.

Overall experience
After visiting Naiise, I was very fascinated by the items that are sold there. They had a wide variety of things ranging from local knick knacks to clothes or even paintings. Personally, what captivated me most was the local knick knacks as I think that they were creatively well thought out and instilled a sense of nostalgia in me. They also had stamping stations where customers are able to try out the stamps that they sell and they also display their beanbag chairs out for the customers to try out. Overall there is a lot of interactivity between the customers and the shop. The experience there was indeed a good one because the atmosphere was very hipster-ish with trendy music blasting throughout their store.

I was thinking of how talented our local designers are after seeing all the cute and funny designs in the local knick knack section. The items sold in the shop were indeed beautifully designed. I felt very happy browsing the shop as there were many interesting things that caught my attention. However I also felt that the prices of some of the items sold are overpriced. For example, there was a framed up marker drawing of super mario for sale at the price of $390??? Perhaps it’s because I don’t appreciate and see things from the perspective of how others see it. But i definitely think that artwork was overpriced. Nonetheless, there were other beautiful artworks and paintings with prices that i see fitting.

Overall Experience
Entering Naiise, browsing through different items sold, i got inspired by most of the artwork/designs. The various collections are creative and stunning. The first thing that caught my eyes are the huge comfort plush of different local delights (Curry Puff, Pineapple Tarts, etc), besides making me hungry, i have always wanted one, for me to hug on it.

Then walking into the shop, starting from the left, i saw varieties of souvenirs (book, badges, notebooks, etc) of different materials and texture. Then to the part where they sell clothes, accessories of different shapes, sizes and designs. The other part that attract me in Naiise is the station where stamps are available, the detailed stamp images caught my attention, thinking of the process of how it was designed, carved, then to the end result that are sold in the shop.

I enjoyed the tour to Naiise, i like the genre of music played in the store, feeling comfortable, with great services from the staff when i asked for more information about the products. However, the price of the products really shocked me a lot! Overtime i sees something i like from the store, i took a look at the price tag, my heart broke into pieces! Because i couldn’t afford it, due to the overprice of each product.

Nevertheless, NAIISE, will be one of the store that i would recommend to people around me for gifts or souvenirs.

As a customer, Naiise is a very visually appealing store with its simple colour scheme of black, white and grey. It's spacious and the ambience felt very chill and welcoming as the music playing in the background was my preferred genre of sound.

There was a DIY wrapping station where the wrapping paper was supposedly free. Stamps were also available. That station allowed people to let their creativity roam free, wrapping their gift however they wanted to. That was one of my favourite experiences at Naiise.

However, since there were 2 sides of the store and the speakers were not loud enough to be heard from the other end of the store, there was another speaker with different music playing. The 2 different music overlapped in the middle of the store, making it very noisy and chaotic.

Also, there wasn't really a clear organising system of their products. The brand names were just printed on small pieces of paper. I was looking for a particular iron-on patch but it was quite difficult to find it in the entire store. (It ended up being near the counter on a podium that said "monthly favourites")

Overall, Naiise feels more like a interactive museum than a shop, since most of the items were out if the price range for students. Products were pretty to look at but not pretty enough to buy.
--------------------------------------------
What I personally feel would be a good product to sell during GSS are planners and notebooks, books written by local authors and apparels such as backpacks. Things that would most likely be bought by a student.

Overall Experience
When I first entered Naiise, I knew it was a shop for designers and hipsters alike. Many of the products on display were made with a lot of thought and some of them were very interactive. I also noticed that the items were organised by categories which gave the shop a neat look.

I also liked how Naiise had a section for local style designs. This really shows that the shop cares about local designers and their works. There were many interesting designs and they added a little bit of colour for the shop. Many of the products reminded me of memories of when these items were still easily found.

The music played was appropriate for designers. Designers have a thing for the indie category. The music really gives the shop a designer feel and it lifts the spirits of the customers.

I enjoyed the homely feel the shop had. The customers were free to roam around and hang out at the shop. This proved the shop could also be a hipster hang out spot. Some discomfort would be about the price tags. The prices were overpriced and this can ruin the experience of many customers.

But this bracelet caught my eye because i am a person that is always looking for a wire to charge my phone and to think that this is useful and not very bulky.

I took a walk around the shop and was amazed by the quantity they produce as it is not a small regular stall, There was this bean bag near the entrance/exit which i enjoyed lying down the most.

Naiise is a store that i would recommend to my friends, tourist to go for a souvenirs or a birthday present although it might look a little expensive as the experience is so much more different from other stores in which sells unique stuff.

Overall Experience

Smooth concrete floors, the rhythmic sound of customer's shoes as they touch the ground, the lights of which give products a sophisticated shine. There I was, walking into the store, keeping all of my excitement in - this feeling was not new at all, the same feeling I used to get as a kid whenever I went to a playground.

A plethora of products were placed on shelves - from frames to books, cutlery to toys, bracelets to sunglasses; the list goes on. Interactivity was everywhere, we were allowed to sit on the beanbags and chairs that were located around the store. Also, there was a football table made entirely out of cardboard (which I find intriguing) that anyone can play with as long as there are at least 2 players.

Nostalgia is undeniably one of the key factors in play - as there were iced gem biscuits (a very popular childhood snack) in the form of a soft toy that was easily the size of a cushion. Moreover, there was a White Rabbit Candy in the form of a bolster which I found pretty adorable. All of my senses were at work during my visit to Naiise, well, except for taste of course. There were scented candles that came with many flavours (ocean, some type of wood I cannot remember, vanilla etc.) and yes, we were more than welcomed to give it a sniff. Hair products for men were also put on display and customers are allowed to open the testers, to have a look at the consistency of the hair wax or pomade and also to have a whiff to ensure that the smell is to their liking (after all, they'd want their hair to smell nice).

Overall, the environment at Naiise is pristine and cosy. I felt as if I was at home there; lounging on the beanbags, listening to music coming from the mini speakers and admiring all the products from afar - completely in awe, thinking about how much hard work and effort must've been put into the creation of said products and reflecting on my entire experience at Naiise.

The visuals and the mood of the store gives a fitting image of a designer retailer. Although I don’t see any signs that categorised the products that Naiise is selling, The placement of the designer products was well sorted and anyone can see clearly of what are the kinds of product each section has.

As I was touring around the store, curiosity sparks within and everything seems mesmerising and makes me think of how the designers came up with all of their creativeness. Although the pricing of the product that are being sold may seems a little costly, I feel that the products are worth the price as it is exclusive and to support the designers of the products.

Overall, my experience at Naiise was favourable. I wouldn’t mind paying for the products once I’m financially independent.

Overall Experience

Exploring the flagship store located at the Cathay was rather enticing as there were more variety of items displayed here compared to the other Naiise outlets. The whole ambience of the store was quite pleasant and relaxed. Many people were coming in and out of the store to view the pretty items sold here. It is a casual setting with beanbags and chairs for consumers to sit on.

The placement of visuals and choice of music genre exudes a positive and casual vibe to the consumers. The whole experience here at Naiise was indeed nice. Consumers were able to interact with the store itself- there is a space to wrap your gifts with the free wrapping paper provided by the store as well as the rubber stamps to try out.

It is a platform for both local and international designers to sell their own original designs. Many of the designs sold here are based locally and I am sure that majority of us Singaporeans do recognise these nostalgic items. Although their products come with a hefty price tag, the overall experience at Naiise complemented well.

Overall Experience

When i first stepped into Naiise, it really felt like a place for designers. The shop displays were sleek and mostly black or white, it felt like a contemporary art museum/exhibition in a sense. I could feel that they placed much effort in making the shop look aesthetically pleasing.

However, because of the many items displayed, I felt that the frontal display were not as eye catching. Hence, I found myself not knowing which to explore first. I felt that it could be the lack of signages in the store that would make one confused and frustrated as to where a particular product would be at.

What attracted me the most was the stamping station. I was gravitated to as it seemed like something interactive and fun. I could see that a lot of us also enjoyed stamping on our arms. There were also many sitting areas which I find quite considerate of Naiise as I was pretty tired after walking around the big store.

Although there were many quirky and cool items that I would like to buy, the price was too high for a student like me to afford. As such, i feel that people of my age or younger, would mostly come to Naiise to kill time and interact with the displays rather than purchasing the items.

Overall Experience

From small items such as stationary, knick knacks, accessories to big and bulky furnitures. You name it, they got it.

Naiise make use of the wide area of space in good use. They are very organize with the items which allows the consumers they browse the items in a organised manner. The wide area of space allows the consumer to breathe while browsing the items and not squeezing or even bumping to another, like even though there were more than 40 of us in store, i did not have a sense suffocation. Just like while we are designing, we always say that we must let the design breathe.

They also have a stamping station which is one of the main USP about NAIISE. From mine personal experience, i like the stamping even browsing through the designs. They also also have stationary like colouring pens and pencil which allows to just have fun with art within one store. Overall, the layout is what we would call minimalistic which everyone likes and eye-catching to all target audience.

Throughout the whole experience, it was a great platform that allows designers’ to showcase their original works especially for people doing as a start-up business. With the local designers, we are able to see many kinds to nostalgic items that many of us could recognised. Even though the high price is always one of the discomfort, I’m sure some consumer could think is worth the price.

One thing for sure, their concept always corresponds to the audience.

It feels very local that most Singaporean can relate to.

The things keep my attentions are the cute unique local products which are made in different forms and ways from local food to cushions, accessories, badges/pins, decorations, bags. All these things awed me because of its creative products that can be made in all different ways. It makes me want to buy the product but I feel that its a little too pricey for me.

As I go along, I feel that the aesthetic of the product makes a good gift and Naiise is a nice place to buy a gift for people. The things that keep in my mind is all the products are expensive.

I feel the point of pleasure I got from the place reflects from the ambience it gives. The way products are arranged and how spacious it is. Next, I feel that what brings me the discomfort are the prices of the product.

Overall Experience

When I first step into Naiise. I feel that there are a lot of different variety of things to see inside the store and I don’t know where to begin with! What interest me the most is the display they put up on the store that are meant to be sold. The store is very spacious and I feel comfortable being inside as there are a lot of breathing space and also the merchandise display there are not squeeze together so that consumer like me can view it clearly. I am most attracted by the store front of the display, which is the light installation and the frames as my mind was thinking “Are those bestselling product? Or is it just for aesthetic pleasure?” Just something I was curious about back then. The store display keeps my attention as there are a whole wall in the store which dedicated to beautiful calligraphy using watercolor with quote that will bring my attention to spending my time reading it. Another thing that attracted me is the nom nom plush which is the different kind of local delicacies made into different size of cute plush toy. It is cute and very relevant to Singaporean.

Walking around in Naiise. , I was thinking which the bestselling product in the store are. The store is so big and fill with different varieties of product makes me wonder how Naiise. bought in all the different type of interesting product.

The point of pleasure in the store is looking at the huge varieties of local product and design. Some of the product design are so good that I wanted to purchase some of the item home for me to get inspired. It is like a store fill with inspiration for designers to look at. Point of pain is that I don’t know where to focus on in the store. The overwhelming items in the store tend to make me feel that there are too much for me to see and after viewing on product it might lose my interest quickly as there are more to see. And also the price of the merchandise is not as affordable as I thought and thus for student like us only will take picture for references rather than purchasing it. Some of the product seem to be overpriced too.

Overall, Naiise, is a good place for designer to find their inspiration at as there are local designer product in the store. The tourist also be attracted to Naiise. as there are many local product that only unique to Singapore are sold there, thus it is a good place for them to buy souvenir. I have visited the different outlet of Naiise. and I recommend people to visit the different store as all of them gives a very different atmosphere and the experience between all the store might be different!
