Determined

"Get over it? What are you talking about, Ruth? Listen, I’m going to be a doctor. I’m not worried about who I’m going to marry yet – IF I ever get married.”(p. 50)

This quote shows that Beneatha is determined because she isn’t worried about being married to anyone. As of now she doesn’t care about getting married at all she more interested in becoming a doctor. This is why I think she’s determined on becoming a doctor to make her family proud instead of doing something she would be bored of. She wants to be an achiever of her dreams and shes sticking to it until the end.

Angry

“I’m just tired of hearing about God all the time. What has He got to do with anything. Does He pay tuition? … It’s just that I get tired of Him getting credit for all the things the human race achieves through its own stubborn effort. There simply is no blasted God—there is only man and it is he who makes miracles!” (p. 50)

This quote shows that Beneatha is angry at her mother for always talking about God even though he hasn't really done anything for her family. She thinks it only people make miracles happen not someone shes never seen before in her life. If I didn't know any better i'd say Beneatha is a atheist because of her disbelief in God. She knows her mother doesn't want her talking about God like that but she does anyways.

I think Beneatha is very eager to learn everything that interest her. Almost every time she has something new likes to do like learning how to play the guitar. She also wants to be in touch with her African roots and wants to still be a doctor all at the same time. This is why i think shes very eager so wants to learn new things non -stop even if her family things shes crazy for changing what she wants to do every week. This is also why Beneatha is my favorite character because shes never gives up.

Maria Zeldis used these colors to explain how the weather was looking. From the look on the woman's face you can tell she's feeling the rain while it storms. To me it looks like the tints of blue are supposed to show sadness because of how gloomy it is. This relates to my character in a way when Beneatha was slapped across the face by Momma.

This poem relates to my character Beneatha in a lot of ways. She was determined to do tons of things and her family would just clown her for not sticking to one thing at a time. This is why she's one of my favorite characters because there' s just so much sh wants to do in life. In the book she wanted to be a doctor when she grew up wanted to learn how to play the guitar and also wanted to get in touch with her African roots. Even when everyone she knew kept telling her to slow down she never did and kept going on.

These have always been my favorite lyrics from J. Cole's song Apparently talks about hows hes focused on the one thing hes and hes not stopping until her gets there. In a way I guess you can say this relates to Beneatha in certain ways and what I mean in that is her goal of becoming a doctor. She wasn't caring about getting married until after everything she wanted to do was accomplished she's a strong woman that knows if she tries hard enough she can make it.
