I have created a learning sequence designed specifically for a grade 9 Media Arts class. This learning sequence delved into the creation of media artworks for a particular genre with the purpose of meeting or manipulating the expectations of the audience.

Throughout the process of gathering resources for my curated collection, I came across a storyboarder program created by Wonder Unit. Throughout my placements, the students had always created their storyboards by hand. I had considered creating storyboards digitally but before coming across this program, had only thought of using Canva. This program is designed specifically for storyboarding and can be seamlessly integrated into other programs such as Adobe Photoshop. This tool would be an incredible asset for students to utilize in their planning stages of any media artworks they plan to create. This tool allows students to draw scenes and effectively communicate what is happening and what is required for each scene. Additionally, students are able to write notes in relation to each scene which they may use in the learning sequence to identify what camera angles they plan to use, or if there is any dialogue in that particular scene.

This tool would provide students with support in creating their storyboards as it would allow them to transform their work into the digital space. Many students are not confident in their drawing ability and prefer to use images as reference and this program allows students to do that. There are a variety of YouTube videos that explain in detail how to effectively utilize the program. Another added benefit of having digital storyboards is that they are able to be shared more easily and can be accessed from a variety of places.
