         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Maori</strong><br>Maori dance, which originated in New Zealand,&nbsp; involves sticks, songs and games. Maori women twirl Poi balls in an effort to keep their hands flexible for weaving. The whirring sound made by the props also was supposed to evoke the noise of the sea and of various animals.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In Yup'ik dance, they tell stories of past hunting and fishing trips,&nbsp; songs, or many other everyday activities and occurrences. Yup’ik dancing, itself, is characterized by the use of dance fans. The women use dance fans made of woven grass and caribou whiskers, while the men use a ring-style dance fan made of wood and feathers. The men typically kneel in front of the women, and all movements are exactly synchronized.</div>]]></description>
