When both are in a classroom setting, UDL & OER help ensure all students can access their learning materials and engagement with activities or lesson styles that work well with them. UDL and OER help ensure that all students have the same opportunities to succeed without the fear of cost or the fear of being different.

UDL helps create a space in which students have access to many different ways of learning and helps demonstrate that learning is different for everyone and students shouldn't feel the need to feel restricted when learning. Different ways in learning in the classroom include; PowerPoints, video lessons, blogs, game based learning, music etc. Teachers also can integrate UDL in lesson planning, assessments and when collaborating with others. Students should also be given the chance to receive feedback from their teachers at the ends of lessons in case they need more explanation or whether they met their goals.

WHY USE UDL

UDL helps make sure that students will have equal learning opportunities in the classroom and help to ensure there are no barriers in learning because everyone is different and most importantly learns differently. It continues to allow students to feel comfortable enough to be asking questions and engage in the lesson. Such as if they wanted to work in a group or individually, they should have the option to choose.

WHY USE OER

OER helps make sure that students have access to the resources needed in the classroom and will help remove stress or anxiety a child might face when not being able to afford to pay for classroom essentials. It helps trying to end education needing to be payed for rather than be accessible to all. Students should have multiple resources to choose from that could be available to them.

UDL & OER APPLY TO MY FUTURE CAREER

UDL & OER can be applied to my future career as an educator because I want to ensure that I follow these structures to ensure that my future students are receiving an education they deserve as in making sure that there are goals in our classroom that help students know what they are working towards for that day or week. As in if there's a test, I would put a goal to study for the week. There's also having different work spaces for students to feel comfortable in as in if they wanted to work individually or in a group since some might prefer to work alone, I would like to have that option for them. I preferred to work alone when I was younger and I was never able to and when I worked in a group; I would get lots of anxiety. From my own experiences, I want to create a better learning environment for our future generation. I also want to give multiple resources available to my students through digital ,reading, prints or audiobooks to ensure that they have all resources that they need to succeed.

OER makes sure learning is affordable to all students and removes any barriers students may face in their educational costs. This promotes equality and diversity in the classroom because it encourages all students to be safe in the classroom without the fear of judgement from anyone else. Students should have the opportunity from educators to receive more options to do work such as through print, digital, text to speech, and reading.
