in the fall of 1919 
in Chicago and Arkansas where riots happened because of the triggers and contributions such as the Great Migration, the racial strife, and labor shortages after the WW1 
So basically the great migration was a lot of African Americans moving to the north for the industrial jobs and increased there populations by a whole lot. 
They could now vote freely too because of the 15th amendment so their community expanded making the whites angry so that why they went to war.
