What gets me out of bed? Children. Living in a world where children don't cry. A utopia. I would never stay in bed knowing that some children could be undergoing a past worse than mine. It keeps me up at night when I feel I haven't done enough. The thought of crying children and sad faces haunts my dreams and stirs memories. I never stay in the same place for long, I can't.
I think the main reason why I never take a break is anger. Frustration. Maybe if I had my sisters, or if I had a better childhood, better parents. I can't blame everyone but I can try. My blood boils when I see misdeeds, and I overreact. I'm not just mad at others, I'm mad at myself. If I just pushed myself harder I could make it happen. If I just pushed myself harder she wouldn't be dead.
I hope. I hope for a better life. Not for me, but for the next-gen. For the gen after that. For the future. I don't hope for the world I live in. The world when I die, mark my word, will be a better place than it is now. That's why I work myself to near death. That's why I work till tomorrow. I can't even think what would happen if nothing improved. My life needs this. I need this.

Happiness

Most people have never seen me smile. Most people haven't heard me laugh. To those who have, I appreciate you. I never show outright happiness without a very good reason. Previously, I have shown happiness when reading and visiting an orphanage. Those are the only things that make me smile. I realize I can come across as rude and unfeeling, but I can't help it. I can't help how years of hiding my feelings have shaped me.
Books have always helped me. They've helped me learn, relax, and to hide when things get hard. Books are more reliable than any friend I've had. No matter what happens, the things I go through, and the pain I'm in, books will always help me. Books are the parents I never had. My mentors. My guidance counselors. They bring warmth to my cheeks when I'm cold. I would read all day if I could; if I didn't have responsibilities.
Children are different. The opposite if you would. Now I'm the parent, I'm the mentor. But I don't mind. It makes me feel like I'm improving these children's childhood. These kids are too young to go through what I did. I will protect them with my life. The innocence of the children is infectiouness.

Is The Risk Worth It

I would, and am risking my life for a better world. I believe that the life of someone like me is a sacrifice that will happen eventually. If I die, I will die doing something worthwhile. Something that will impact the world. I will not die knowing that I haven't done anything. I will risk my life to protect others. I wonder if anyone would hold a funeral for me. Maybe Dolores, not our parents. I would risk my life for them. I can't leave the world until I'm sure that my loved ones are safe. If anyone else in my family dies, it will be me. I'm disposable.
Even though my parents don't love me, I will still protect them. Even if Dolores hates me, I will fight for her. As I've said many times before, I would risk my life for a child as well. Any child. No child will die while I am there. Every life is worth saving, every life matters. I can't explain this need to protect. To suffer so others won't. It's an instinct I guess. Some have told me that I have a death wish, and maybe I do. But the thought that I haven't done enough for this world is horrible. I guess I would die for the world.
What else would I die for? I would die for another chance. I would die to experience the world that I strive to create. If I could experience peace in a different life, I would. If it were as easy as that. I would die for some happiness. Some stress-free moments. Some time to enjoy the life I've been given. But my life isn't for me to enjoy. Not this one.

About Me

My name is Gaudium Miller Umbridge. I was born in Great Britain during the 1950s. When I was 28, my sister force-fed me a potion she made that prevents you from dying naturally and from growing older. I am the only witch that has ever been this close to immortality. In years, I am 70, but I still feel and act like a 28-year-old. I consider myself a hero, and I strive to live up to that name. I enjoy reading, writing, and taking care of children.
To be prepared is to be reliable. I carry around a bag that has an undetectable extension charm that Hermione also used. Inside is anything that I could possibly need for survival. Healing potions, water bottles, food bars, a blanket, a change of clothes, and much more. Dolores gifted the bag to me when I was much younger.
One of the things that I am is elegant. I realize that sounds arrogant, but I work hard to be like this. As a perfectionist, my elegance must not be exceeded by anyone. I can't have creases on my clothes, and they must be ironed every night. I look up to Professor McGonagall and strive to be as mature as her. Though my closet has a lighter palette, we both have a clean and precise way of dressing. Both of our postures are near perfect and command respect. Though I may seem conceited, I can't help but be proud of myself.
Despite all that I've gone through as a child, my childhood has been marked by lovely traumas, no parents, and limited education. I always grew up in a poor community and was also neglected by my foster parents. The only ones I had were my sisters, and because they are a lot older, they left home as soon as they could. I often got sick, and my health kept deteriorating. This was mostly caused by a lack of sleep, food, water, and love. However, I can now go long periods with minimal energy. My sisters and I all have a need to improve the world, and this is caused by our horrible foster parents. Our parents died a few months after I was born, and we were sent into an abusive household. It was our past that brought us together despite our different views on how to change the world. Somehow, the angry curses, rude faces, and abusive manners nudged us to be as close as possible. Due to the lack of social stability in the area where I grew up, I could not attend school. My sisters took it upon themselves to educate me until I was old enough to attend Hogwarts. In spite of this, our parents decided that I needed to remain at home, but they refused to homeschool me. I struggled with learning, but I stayed determined. My one flaw is overworking. Unfortunately, I tend to overwork since I am a perfectionist. I believe sacrificing my life and my happiness will contribute to the world.

My ultimate goal is to bring peace. If I can live in a place where children don't have to cry, I will be at ease. I understand that the weight of the world doesn't lay on my shoulders, but I still must work hard to accomplish it. My day starts with petty crimes, but as the day progresses, my attention turns to witches and wizards aspiring to be like Voldemort. I do have something up my sleeve though, a special technique that I learned growing up. As I go against people, I gradually lower their self-esteem. I discovered that body language can really help you in the long run.
