I learned that time goes by really fast, and that you never have to change yourself in order to fit into a certain group. Life is too short not to be loyal to yourself, your standards, and your happiness. Stand up for yourself and what you believe because one day you'll be proud you never backed down.

whats good fellas
During your freshman year you should just try and get yourself used to the new enviorment first as you don't want to over work yourself before you even know the people in your class. Your freshman year is the behind second semester of senior year in least important years of highschool so don't stress it if you fail a test or have a bad semester it won't ruin you compeltely. You still should do your best but don't burn yourself out and just enjoy school because it does go by fast as everyone says. Finally take easy classes so you can have less stress especially if it is a Mr. B class TAKE THOSE THEY ARE THE BEST. Finally just have fun and play as many sports as you want because I heard boys volleyball in the spring is pretty fun and could use some people in the spring.

Get involved with something, it doesn't matter what it is. The best way to make friends and meet new people is through a club or a sport. Freshman year is really important for your gpa so make sure you try your hardest while your classes are still pretty easy. Its hard to come back from messing up your gpa freshman year. Have as much fun as possible and give yourself something to look back on when your done because it will be over faster than you think.

Get involved in extra curriculars and make friends. Try new things. Do it all, because, before you know it, you will graduate. There will be hard times, but there will be many good times, too. Most of all, study hard, have fun, and enjoy high school.

Dear Freshman,
These next four years will be over far too soon. My advice to you is to make the absolute most of the short time that you will spend here. Do not dwell on the small things. Get involved in as much as possible. Make your life long friends. Get to know your NDCL community, and finally do not take a single second of it for granted. Live everyday of these next four years as much as you possibly can and put to use everything that this school has to offer before it's over.

Hey freshmen!

You've made it to high school! These four years will go by faster than you think, so try and make the most of it. Don’t be scared to go out and have fun with your family and friends. At the same time, definitely don’t slack off your freshman year. Try to submit all your homework on time and study for your tests AND FINALS because it can hold you back. Be kind to everyone because trust me you don’t want to waste four years disliking someone. Also just remember that sometimes things will get difficult and that’s okay, you just have to try to bring yourself back up. Definitely go to all the dances like homecoming and football games and basketball games are a must. Just have fun and try to get involved as much as you can and remember to be yourself no matter what! :)

Dear Freshman, the only advice I have for you is to make as many friends as you can and get involved in as many school activities as you can. Being involved with school activities like sports, clubs, Labre, or anything, will make you feel like you have an actual connection to the school, almost like a second home. Make as many friends as you can, because although there will be terrible days, you need to have people there for you and look forward to being with you, because that is what really gets you through the bad days. And by the time you graduate, these friends will be the best people you have ever met.

Hi freshmen! Welcome to NDCL!!!! I am so glad you chose to come here because soon enough it will feel like home. NDCL has brought me my closest friends and many life lessons and values that I will carry with me my whole life. If I could give you guys any advice, it would be to get involved asap - you will meet so many people and create so many friendships from different groups and have fun doing so (and it also looks good for college which is a bonus). It also would be to take school seriously, but make sure to balance it with hanging out with friends and other activities so that you can have fun along the way! Also, sometimes less is more when it comes to friends, 4 quarters is better than 100 pennies. . . find friends who build you up, embody the values you admire, and hold you accountable for your own wrongdoings. Make the best of your four years, I wish you the best luck!!!!!!

Hello freshman!
Welcome to high school!!! These next 4 years are going to fly by so just remember to have fun and to focus on the bigger picture and to focus less on the little things that aren't going to matter after high school. Remember to try your best and put your best foot forward always. Cherish the happy moments throughout your time here at NDCL and also remember to let the bad times roll off your back and keep pushing forward. Try not to procrastinate. As hard as it may be it will be beneficial in the end. In my opinion the best advice I could give you for this is to do your homework the night it is assigned rather waiting till the night before or the day the assignment is due to finally do it. Finally, my last piece of advice is to make the most of your time here in high school and to get involved in as many things as you can. Anyway I wish you the best of luck and hope you have a great next 4 years. :)

This will help you to branch out and meet new people. As a graduating senior, I am still making new friends here at NDCL. I wished I had branched out more in previous years, so make sure to do that! Remember, everyone is going through the same thing, so lean on each other for support! Work hard in your classes, since freshman year is so important to set you up for success in the years to come. Challenge yourself, as this will only prepare you better for the future. The time flies so fast, so never waste a moment.

Dear freshman,
Everyone will tell you that these next four years will fly by and trust me it will. I would doubt these people because four years seems so long, but when you surround yourself with the right people who lift you up, it flies by. Always tale advantage of the opportunities you are given. Do not beat yourself up over a few grades and never doubt your abilities. This is a time where you truly learn so much about yourself, so make every moment count. Stressors today, will be nonexistent tomorrow. That math test you are worried about, will not matter in a year or even a month from now. When teachers tell you to study, please study. Go to the football games, even if you don't understand football. Go to homecoming and prom, even if it isn't your thing. It is important to have no regrets of what you did, but regrets of what you didn't. Always try your best and give it your all. Do not stress about college because I can almost 100% promise you that your college of choice right now, if you even have one, will change so many time. Have fun go lions!

Make sure that you guys get close with one another, respect each other because you never know what one person can be going through in life. Work as hard as you can because freshman year is the most important. If you are ever stressed and think you will not get through anything .... well you will. There was plenty of times where i thought i wasn't gonna get anything done because i was so busy with school, but then everything worked out. Use your teachers as much as you can because it will help you and that was something i didn't do until my senior year. Get involved with sports, clubs, and bunch of retreats. In all, have fun, get good grades, create memories and relationships with friends because time flies so fast.

Dear NDCL Class of 2027,
I know that this sounds cliche, but these next four years will absolutely fly by, and before you know it, you will be graduating high school, and headed off to college. Make sure that you take risks, and push yourself to be better. Work hard, but don't kill yourself trying to be perfect because in all honesty, that's not reality. Try new things, and don't be afraid to do so. Get involved as much as you can, because that will help you to grow as a person, make your time at NDCL better, and will allow you to meet so many amazing people. Try not to worry about the small things, it will make your life so much harder if you do. Everyone makes mistakes, so why not do as much as you can, and if it doesn't work out, SO WHAT! No one will remember that one thing that you did freshman year that you thought was just SO embarrassing, but what they will remember is the amazing experiences they have had, and how much they will miss NDCL when they are gone. Take advantage of every opportunity that you are given, and if you do this, you will succeed. Good luck with the next four years!!!

Hello Freshman!! I'm going to share with you some things to remember as you step into high school. First, As much as school work is important, take time for your friends and family. Building relationships, in my opinion, is worth more than stressing over an assignment that will get you a perfect grade in the class. There is a balance you will have to find where you can complete your school work and make time for your friends and family. It will take some time to get used to it, but I'm telling you its worth it. Some of these relationships you will keep into your 30s and 40s; I guarantee you will not even remember your freshman year class grades by the time you graduate from NDCL! Secondly, join as many clubs or sports as you can!! This is how you will make new friends, find teachers or coaches for great recommendation letters, and its also a way to build your college resume! I suggest joining CPE when you are a junior, colleges love it!! Also get involved in Campus Ministry. The people are amazing, and you also find great connections from it!! Well, I wish you the best of luck with your high school career! It will be over before you know it. I remember reading these letters my freshman year 4 years ago. Just enjoy the little moments and take it all in!! :)

Dear freshman,
Welcome to the big leagues! You've finally made it to the next big step of your life. Four years isn't a lot compared to the time you spent in grade school, but don't worry about that. For now, worry about the things currently in front of you. Whether it be a pop quiz or your friend wants to see a movie, that's what you should be focused on. Soon you'll come across many new faces who all have their own stories, but don't worry. See those people as your team who will help each other as you approach the finish line. Many of the friends I have are the very people I met freshman year. As you transition into high school, think of freshman year as the thing that will decide how the rest of your years in high school will be like. Especially stay on top of your grades because they will bite back at you in the future if you don't take care of them. Just know that all the work you put into both your school and social life will eventually pay off in the future!

p.s. try to get college credits
