If they mess up, they are held to a higher standard than men for their mistakes and it stays with them for longer. I think with social media, this has gotten worse over time because more people an share their opinions and see mistakes when they do happen. </div>]]></description>

I think that these are still present today because you can see a clear difference between behavior in mens and womens sports like baseball and softball.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Passage 3 can be argued to be more harmful because it is so indirect that it comes off more normal and less extreme, so people are more willing to listen. While passage 2 is extremely damaging and disrespectful, passage 3 is the same, but in an under the radar way, which is more dangerous.<br>If I were Carrie, I would make sure to publicly speak about how that is not okay, much like AOC did when she was called a "raging bitch". I would definitely stay true to myself.</div>]]></description>

Yes being called the B word on live television sucks, but there are different ways to take that. Having a man critic your body and brain after being retired for a few years is not right at all. She could have had something happen that caused her to change, not to mention 5 years is a long time to be away from the sport or anything for that matter.          <description><![CDATA[<div>More than half of the top 12 highest paid tennis players are male, as they get their money from endorsements and men get a lot more of these endorsements. Females need to look perfect, and for males this isn't as much of an issue. It is easier for a male to get endorsements, and therefore make more money. With Carrie loosing her endorsement, she is loosing a main source of income. I would have been very mad, but I don't know if theres much you can do about it once they take it away. </div>]]></description>

Tennis players make their money through endorsements, so losing endorsements is a pretty hefty blow to a career. I think this would have been pretty stressful because not only was she losing endorsements, but she also was getting very little media support because the last part of the passage says that they were already counting her out because of two losses. This could also effect her performance in upcoming games which adds even more stress to her</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I know that one of the highest-paid female tennis players is Naomi Osaka because of the many endorsements she has with companies. Losing out on these brand deals probably made Carrie feel unworthy and as if she can no longer play as well as she used to. If I was her I would try my best to not let it get to my head. But something like endorsements are so vital to how these athletes view themselves so it would be very challenging to not let it affect me. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>some of the highest paid tennis players are Roger Federer, Naomi Osaka, Serna William, etc. All though I think they a lot of their money does come from endorsements and advertising I also thing that some of it does come from the tournaments you play as well as win. If were Carrie in this situation I would solely focus know doing my best and making sure that's all people see. I think by losing this endorsements it only affected her in a positive way because it would make her want to work harder and yes its not going to feel good when you do lose it up you have to keep playing and prove them wrong.</div>]]></description>
